urgh...fried another one
I'm getting really sick of this. It must be the 5th board I've fried. I think that my time in Xmodding is becoming lower and lower. I think its time for a Mini-Z...
I'll probably sell the thing now... Later, RedSXmodder |

how did you fry it? I would just go to mini-z if you fried 5 boards already.

I think I should probably start running the electronics with the board covers one. It'd probably help a little bit. I am not sure what's happening.
I've fried 1-2 boards testing out super high draw motors (these went up in smoke right away), the rest were of unknown causes. OK, here's the whole story. I'm driving my car around, and it seems slow, like somethings binding. I take the whole rear end apart and relube it (smoother than silk baby!) I turn on the car, and it makes this electronic noise: *cough* *cough* clears throat: zzzeeeenenenzzeeeeenenenenenenenenezzeenet Like its trying to do something. Then it smokes, and the solder holding the modified motor plug (deans) falls off... Anywho, long story short, I fried my M F'n FETs, and it sucks. Oh well... Later, RedSXmodder |

Wow, I don't know how all you guys kill your Xmods so regularly. I guess you guys "drive hard". I ran one of mine through what would have been a lake to a real car and after lettingi t sit for a couple of hours it was fine. I am running a 7 cell which people have told me will fry my board, and it's just fine.

My monster mudder 4x4 started acting up, so I disassembled it. I'm building a new 4x4 and hope the electronics don't act up... It would be nice if someone made vehicles this small that had hobby-grade parts. It would be cheap to just change out an esc, and not have to change an entire board with esc, servo, receiver, etc...

People could trie to get some hobby grade electronic parts instead of the xmod ep i noe much people have done that. Because i also burned my electronic board so im kinda ****ed too.

Hobby grade electronics deffinately wouldb be nice, but stock xmods would raise sharply in price. I think a Novak spy, or some other micro ESC would be great. Later, RedSXmodder |

Someone on XMW? is doing a Novak Spy... Even a Micro-T board handles more draw than a stock Mini-Z board, proppably a good 9amps.. Looking to run it in all future cars...
Oh, and it's full propo, but not alot of low speed propo. It's there, but not super great. That's why there's a slipper...

hey red, are you using an evo or gen1? I've ran my corvette through puddles, and once i even (on accident) got it totally submerged in water. We were driving in his backyard and the sprinklers had just been on. i was going in a straight line, hit the grass and there was a huge splash. then i dried off everything, turned it on, and it ran great. the gen 1 ep was built to last, if you run stock stuff, that is, no crazy motors.

Hmmm. I'm thinking I'll throw a gen1 EP into my EVO....
Like I said before, there are freak boards out there, some freak in a good way, and my luck, well, they freak badly... Later, RedSXmodder |
