Thats a pretty fast setup.. You can get lithium batts. which will smoke your friends and cut the weight of the 6-cell and have more power.

the kyosho x-speed motor is an inexpensive fast motor for stock fets and does much better with upgraded fets.

I agree with the ltihium idea and the motor i would recommend is the PN Racing stock fet motor. I have three of those runiing through someof my xmods and those motors are fast as He**.

Dude I am in the same boat in that my soldering skills are not the best! I have improved on them majorly since playing around with Xmods but I still have a few mishaps every now and again - anyway I wanted to show you this:

This is my Gen1 custom Honda Civic that has the following upgrades:

S2 Yellow Motor w/ SpinBrush Magnet upgrade using Blue Cog
Tight Turns Kit
Lithium Batteries
Switchblade Chassis
Metal Bearings
AWD

You dont see all of the upgrades because my pictures are a little out of date but I wanted to give you an idea of what I was working with and believe me this car is a monster! The torque from the SpinBrush magnets is insane and the top speed power from the liths is like 30MPH+.

My plans now are to replace some of the stock wiring with a thicker grade and to bypass the power switch, both of these are going to put my soldering skills to the test. Once that is done I want to look at some of the motor suggestions the guys on this page gave you - I've heard a lot of good stuff about the PN Racing one and it is the route I would prefer to go as I dont want to mess with FETs.

Oh and remember that just like in real life adding custom paint and sponsor stickers makes your Xmod go at least 10MPH faster! :-)

Check out my website if you want to see more of my cars.

Thanks.

Oh well the batteries only had a small amount of charge in them so they ran out as I was testing the car - I put the lith kit into and its much faster the 6-cell was just a temporary thing to make sure the upgraded motor worked.

Yeah, bearings, liths, but you need to solder liths, and Maybe a Kyosho, PN, or Atomic (not atomicmods) Motor.

Lithiums, bearings, and all that is great but be careful with a setup that goes that fast. you might want to invest in some GPM so you're not replacing busted knuckles and such.

It really depends on other factors as well. My brother and I had comparable set ups except my Lancer has a 7 cell upgrade and his Firebird has litium power, and it really was a coin flip when we raced.

i second this.....most of the sites say 45 ish on a speed checker for the faster hot motors...so obviously its slows significantly on the road or track! besides....even if he could go that fast, what kind of range would you have to have to be able to top out at that speed.

and i dont see a st 2 motor going 30+ either.
