Antenna tuning.

the length of a wave length is (984)/frequency in megahertz

Xmods run on 27 megahertz

so: 984/ 27megahertz= 36.44ft

This is to long so we can divide it in 1/2(half wave), 1/4(fourth wave),1/8(eighth wave),1/16(sixteenth wave), and 1/32 (you get it)

So the easiest possible way to do it is it to 1/32's so the antenna length is going to be roughly 1.13 feet (36.44/32)

sSme people say that you do not tune it correctly, it will ruin your reciever. If you do this to Xmods, you won't because Xmods don't transmitt waves, they only recieve them.

You can make an antenna of your own by taking the number on your frequency crystal, for example on the yellow crystal 27.145

EXAMPLE
You would take 984/27.145= 36.249ft
then, 36.249/32
=1.1328 feet (this is how long your antenna is)

Hope this helped some

I tried the R20 mod and for some reason it didn't work for me. If your range if fried, you could try the range repair kit. They have it at Atomic Mods.

Later,
