I would hate to admitte the new stang looks realy cool, but being bias as I am my vote is for the vette, more HP and fully independet suspension. More HP with the Z06 that is, I'm not sure about the non Z06 cars.

If you bought the mustang for the money you saved from the vette you can upgrade suspension, throw on a supercharger, some bolt ons and then you got your self a vette eater. Also for a little less then the c6 you can get either the steeda or the saleen mustangs and then your sailing. Also in the february or march edition of 5.0mustang they show alot of sweet body kits for the new mustang. CDC, APC, Saleen, steeda, and alot more have come out with some sweet ones.

but in the end you would still have solid axle rear end and I'm sure a Saleen cost more then a Z06 and after all those mods you would spend less on a Z06.

if i had the money i would get the real corvette and go to HP Performance and get their twin turbo kit for it.

The saleen s281 is 38,000 usd. the base model vette is 44,500 usd (let alone the c6). the base model gt is just over 20,000usd. So your saving over 24,000 buy buying the gt. all it takes is ten grand to make it's numbers high above the vette's. Another 2 grand for a body kit and paint, 1500 for new rims and tires. More power, more looks, more performance and less money.

^^^^dude the vette is 500 HP and the saleen extrem is 445 HP I did not know that a Saleen extrem is only is 38 grand, I'm still not sure that it is, plus rims and paint don't mean **** to me.

I was jsut on Saleens site the numbers are....
Saleen S281 E Coupe $61,120

and they even gave me the price of the z06
$51,733

by the way let's just leave this to factory cars

I think he's talking about the REAL vette. While I am diehard Ford, I'd rather have the Vette...that is, until 2006 or 2007, when the GT500's out...

First, we're talking about a 2005 Mustang, which dealers are marking up an extra 3k, and if you get a GT for MSRP, it's 25k at very least. If you want to start into Saleens, the S281, which makes 325hp, costs 39 THOUSAND DOLLARS!!

Since the question is between a 2005 Mustang GT and a 2005 Corvette, the Vette wins hands-down. If we were talking about any year Mustang versus a new C6, you can buy a pullied 2003-2004 Cobra that'll munch vettes with ease, but I interpret the question as a STOCK 2005 Mustang GT versus a STOCK 2005 Corvette.

thats for the 2004 model

If a dealer walked up to me and said pick out of the two cars for free. i would pick the vette ( I would turn around and sell it and then buy myself my dream mustang) But If I had 60 grand lieing around then it would be the mustang. so thats my two cents.
