Budget Skyline

i picked up an unopened first gen skyline for $15 and decided to start modding for as cheap as i can. so far:
-6 cell $1
-GPM front deck $5
-bodykit $4
-red nylock lugs $5
-i made my own mono-shock and shaved a lot of unwanted weight from the
body

i cant seem to find an AWD anywhere but i will be regularly checking e-bay
i will post pics soon and keep this updated...

also if you have a cheap mod suggestion please post it!!

For awd, You could take a gen1 rear bevel gear and shave it down to the shape of a front bevel gear and buy some gpm front axles.

It would save you more money then buying a awd upgrade from ebay.

EDIT: Totally forgot about the front gpm cup also...

very nice car but lets keep things on topic of cheap mods, bearings are cheap to i got some sheilded ones off ebay for about 11 bucks canadian and that was shipped from the states to canada, also you could try going through everything that moves and throw some very very small amounts of lube on things, i remember there being a cheap mods thread here once but i think i was lost in the hack, it was full of dirt cheap mods, also with the gen ones the plastic knuckles can be shaved down where the tierod conects to the knuckle so that the rim cant touch the knucle anywhere! plus a little less weight if that would even make a difference

no you need 50 posts only to post in it and 100 to make one, used to be 200 witch i think was better because that way someone cant just come on make a bunch of bull useless posts and scam someone, but you can still look at it even if you dont have the 50 to post or 100 to make one of your own. if you really want something you can always private message the seller for more info or to work out a sales deal, i did it before when i didnt have over 50 posts. when the hack happened, i lost all my posts besides 7, so i went to get a blue toyota alltezza from nissianshift350, if anyone remembers, and a gen one chassis with tight turns on it, (ooo theres another cheap mod!) and i sent off 58 bucks us and never seen anything back so like the old saying goes buyer beware and thats why i think the minimum post should be over 200, just my 2 cents and i know little off topic but a good warning for all new members

well, i had to shell out the $25 for the batteries and charger today
and XI is taking their sweet time sending my lugs and i broke two of them so now i am running on lugs made from a bic pen ink tube! (BTW just cut a little piece of the tube off about as thick as a regular lug and screw it on your axels) and you have FREE lugs! wish i knew that before i bought aluminum!! so thats what i got so far and when i make a photobucket account i will post pics...

ok so here it is thus far

here you can see the ink tube lugs and i shaved the spoiler legs down to shorten it and give it a better angle

i shaved the GTR from the stock bumper and added it to the mild bodykit i am using

i shaved everything including the front mount..

..and attached it to the front bumper

mono-shock and 6-cell
