Default 60000 rpm!

i found some 60000 rpm xmod/miniz motors on ebay! for those who don't know that's twice as fast as the gen1 stage 2 motor upgrade! just search xmods motor on ebay and you'll find it sooner or later. have fun! oh yeah, it's japanese so unless you're in the western us look for some domestic sellers.

EDIT: here's a link to one.

Don't buy them. Their meant for smaller, lighter cars. If they do work well, I have extremely high doubts they'll pull 60-85k...

Just like most Tamiya motors their brushes are too weak and brittle to with stand the stress that most Xmod users put on their motors. You would need to upgrade brushes to be able to run the motors armature to it's full potential. Even then, you'll be paying the same amount as you would to purchase a motor off of AtomicMods or Xmodsinternational.

As well as being brittle they are only meant for Auldeys line of RC vehicles which runs off of two AA batteries (voltage of 3.4V with Alkaline) while the Xmods run off of 4.8V with four rechargable AAAs. That slightly larger voltage may wreak havok on the brushes, can, magnets and armature.

Yah, my hairy ***.....

The few motors that reached that speed are listed below... Don't know about the first one though...
-- Plasma Atomic
-- MoeBrown's Cheatah
-- Performance Xmods' X-2 Light Speed Pro

But the last two would fry any regular Nelly or AM-V2...

Seems like enough what? If you want to spend money on a motor that goes 60,000 RPM and tops out at a whole 12mph and accelerates like crap, go right ahead.

Sweed, try a TRM super-crazy. Arm just like a X-2 in an M1 (HE) can. He, he, he, X-2 lightspeed, pssshh...

Later,

Red, is absolutely correct.
BTW, what's this Cheatah motor Sweed's been talking about?
Like specs...if anyone remembers...

Also, sweed, the plasmatomic can reach crazy rpms on stock/iso mags.
I ran my car on lipos with plasmatomic and stock mags, the lipos got so hot...temperature wise...

The Cheetah was the only option if you wanted a 40mph+ car unless you went with PX's (or MNM's (or XmodSpeed's)) Motors or wound your own. Made by a guy called Moebrown(20?) that was on XMW and PX's forum alot... It was all around good too...

Iso's will yeild higher speeds than Neo's if that's what your after....
And a higher voltage won't always yield higher speed becuase of what Donz-Donz said...

Yeah, just look at the extra brushes they give you. They're like, tabs of metal... And the bearings? "Soft alloy bearings"?!?!

Here is a link I found while on Woah Nelly.

Plasmatomic...

Uberdash!

Point is that with 4.8 volts, you can only go so far. I am curious as to the quality of the armature, and can.

Armatures are good, nice tight winds.
The comms, most, are plastic, lol, so they can melt, best to run nothing more than a 6cell on them...or li-ions...that's pushing it too...

Those are good links, lol...ph2t did a mod where you can nip the brushes off the quick release, solder them upside down on the top, so it can advance the brush's timing, or something like that...it was sick though...

This will help explain that a little..........

"Adjusting the motor timing on modified motors is a common way to fine tune the motor for more RPM or torque. Advancing the timing gives you more RPM's and more power. However it does have some some side effects. These are: more heat, more commuator wear, and a shorter runtime. Decreasing the timing gives you more torque, longer runtimes, and less heating of the motor. It will also decrease the amount of wear on the commuator." (Misbehavin' RC)

Look, the X2LSP only can run on a stacked nelly, or hobby-grade ESC's.

Amp draw must be around 30 amps, as it fried the V2 ,but that little thing is so inefficient, I wouldn't doubt it....
Lol, nelly ftw!
50 bucks, what a joke!

Most_Wanted, thanks for that, a lot of people here have no clue what brush timing is...lol....

This would act as it it were a M1 endbell, you can adjust how far in/out the brushes go, so barely touching the comm will have the most speed, while having the longest life. I am not sure on speed, but pushingh the brush in a lot will just burn it up quick, but the torque is a give-off, good for indoor drifting for ~ 20 mins max, seems like a good idea.
