Default painting help

when painting a xmod is it better to use primer first or to just paint over it in one color

knowing just painting in general its always good to have a rough surface or a primer on to paint over it...just so the paint doesnt flake off.

Don't use primer.
I don't think Bondo does, I don't either.
It's just an extra unnecessary layer of paint that thickens up the job.
Not worth it, just sand off the xmod body and lay down your base coats.

if you do a good enough job of prepping the car, you can spray directly onto the plastic (with your basecoat)...you'll need to scuff down the body and degrease it to get rid of any contaminants that may make your paint crinkle or fisheye.

what kind of spray paint do you use and do you use a clear coat??

I use testors because it the only one I can find. The others (I think) are in craft stores. Read this thread, it might help:

where can you get testors from and are they better than spray can
