Default Dadgum Antenna!

So guys, I just bought my first XMOD, 2010 mustang GT, (clever username huh?), and I can't help but be irritated by the giant antenna sticking out of the back end. I was wondering if anyone's ever tried an interior antenna, or bent their current antenna to fit under the body. I think it'd be rather attractive this way.

"!@#$ing antenna!" is a first lol congratz and welcome to the forums

as for the antenna there was a hidden antenna kit for mini-z's and i think a few ppl tried it on xmods.

Their first topic title also typically doesn't break forum rules. Please see the Xmodsource Forum Rules and Guidelines and read them carefully. The use of astrics or symbols in place of a cuss word is against forum rules.

Please remember that at any point where an antenna is creased or bent at a ninety degree angle or more it will as only as long as the origin (where is screws in) until that ninety degree angle. If you are going to make an internal antenna (which is possible ) be very careful not to bend the antenna but to roll it instead.

Cheers,
Kyle.

Your right. A friend of mine used one on his Gen.1 with no problems from what I can remember. It fit nicely under the shell (R34 body) and looked really clean. I can't remember the price, but your local hobby shop may have them in stock or can get ahold on one for you.

Default Woo!

Okay, I'll post pictures up soon, but I got it to work and kept the antenna in it many thanks for the suggestion to loop it in there instead of bending it. It looks great. Now... how do I seal the disfiguring hole, perhaps a bit of bondo and some glossy black paint?

Well, have you tested the range yet? I expect that since you're stuffing the antenna under that thin sheet of plastic (that means instead of being a foot at it's highest point, it's more like a couple inches) you would lose some range. If not, then at the very least your antenna might be in danger of touching your batteries.
