Tomorrow could be the,end?
Move over 9/11. 9/10 could be our worst nightmare: the end of the world. That’s if one goes by those opposed to the largest science experiment ever that will be conducted on Wednesday.
Come September 10, an excited bunch of physicists at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) near Geneva will fire subatomic particles into a 27-km loop, making them travel the bend 11,245 times a second, and then smash them head on. For those conducting the mega-experiment 300 feet under the French-Swiss border, answers to the birth of the universe may be answered. But for people like Prof Otto Rössler of the University of Tübingen, it will be apocalypse. Last week, Rössler and other naysayers of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiment had hoped that the European Court of Human Rights would block it. They believe that the chances of a black hole — an intense gravitational field sucking in everything including light — being created by the experiment is very high. Rössler says that the worst case scenario will have the Earth sucked inside out “within four years of a mini-black hole forming”. The Court, however, dismissed the petition. So what is the experiment about? Arrays of delicate sensors in the LHC will track the wreckage of the smash-up: a spray sub-atomic particles like quarks, muons, and pions. Overground computers will then sieve this data before sending it to institutions around the world that specialise in high-energy physics. The truth is, no one really knows what will emerge from these collisions. Considering that the ‘mini black holes’ created at CERN will be so weak that they will exert minuscule gravitational tugs, we shouldn’t worry. But just in case, on Wedneday, keep your windows shut I got this off myspace and I saw a thread on this over on Bungie.net. SO basically the world might just be aten alive by a black hole because some French people wanna see how the Earth was made.Stupid Idea, why?IT RISKS EVERYONES LIFE!

I've read about this. The machine used is wicked huge. Conspiracists are the ones who are strongly bloating the black hole theory. Truly, no body knows what will happen with the black holes. And even if they developed, if they would actually be sustainable to cause any harm, if any.
But I have a foil beanie premade just in case

I heard about this, I was like" Are you stupid?" Personally I think its a bad idea, but the outcome might be better than we though.

haha...that's crazy. all in all, physics>machines...they can't induce something with a machine big enough to impact the entire world. trust me, if our country or any other thought this was going to be a big deal, it wouldn't happen.

All I can say is I hope no one turns on the microwave at the same time.......
Oh and this is nothing Northrop Gunman are going to begin testing fully operational laser weapons soon before issuing them the US Army.... now thats scary!!

The likelyhood of creating a man-made black hole is highly impossible imo. We have not yet found out what a black hole can do or even have that much info on what it really is - all we know is what is transmitted back to us from explorer satillites spacecrafts. Lets face it - all we do is really speculate what something is since we are so facinated by stuff that we can't explain - we have a way of creating our own analysis and then use that to explain things to everyone else.
The only thing that I read before that is somewhat a scary senario to me is having a black hole form close to our galaxy or even close to earth - if it really does "suck" or "swallow" things (excuse my desciptions) it could easily pull everything off their rotation around the sun and literally suck every planet into it that close to it's gravitational pull. Anyways, back to topic - those scientist are messing around with one huge bomb - it's never good to have so much atoms/ions/particles or whatever slam into each other at light speed - it's a recipe for disaster if it goes wrong. Anyways, i'll be looking at it if they show it on the news - we'll all see how it turns out anyways

you do know they've done this a hundred times before right, on a smaller scale of course, thats how we have man made elements (i'm not talking alloys or ceramic, those arn't even elements)

it's actually pretty creepy, but i think is just fake, because it would have been in the news already.
but here is a creepy simulation of the black hole. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moEzECvJDas , hopefully it is fake

LOL - I know that bro - it's just never been done in a huge scale like this one before like you mention. I read that they have a whole year before they can actually use full power anyways so they'll be starting off with low energy things so that they can get use to the machine. Whatever the outcome it should take while to process all that data anyways before we get some results

well, the end of the world is bound to happen sooner or later. all i know is that if the black holes do form, as long as they're slow enough, i'll steal a car and go on a rampage, maybe try some mary jane, crack, all that stuff, definately burn down a house. hey, they say live every day like it's your last, of coarse we can't, but we might finally get that chance. makes me wonder why there were no riots on 6/6/06...
of coarse, on a more serious note, i really doubt that we'll all die, if there was a really great chance we'd be in panick mode by now. when are they going to do this anyway, like what time?

hell i don't want a black hole.
it be great if there was another dimension that had "portals" in the form of "white holes" that were linked opposite black holes(it'd be a kingdom come.) and all the physics and crap were reversed
