yep, I love Duluth. all these pictures were taken on the railing on the deck in front of my house. I see that view every morning out my bedroom window
ok, back on-topic. the tires to rub as-is. but I think 95% of that is just as a result of wheel slop. bearings are high on my list. will evo truck bearings work in the car knuckles? as I think I've got an extra set around here somewhere also the front body mount sits just a touch too low. a small shim there will fix the rest of the rubbing issues. the guy that built it suggested filing the wheel wells a bit.....but screw that man, I'm not touching this body with a file! as far as looks are concerned, I do like this evo chassis. it's pretty cool to be able to see the front A-arms/springs under that push-bar. if I body-lift it, I'll probably relocate the battery tray up on top of the chassis.... yea, I talked to the builder about the jump seats.....but they really would have looked crappy with the tonneau cover on there. so just a roll bar. although I might build a removable high-topper to clear the roll bar, like this (this is a second-gen brat, but you get the idea): |

Yes, the Evo car and Evo trucks share the same bearings. Any RS upgrades for the Evo series of cars and trucks that were sold in white packages, can be used for both. Amazing XMOD, I never thought I would see a Subaru Brat body on an Xmod chassis. This is definately unique.

now thats a custom xmod, very nice dude, i like the way the hummer rims look on it as well, you should definitely try to mount those bad boys haha looks great dude, but even if you just make it a shelf queen you can still make it look like its a rally car/truck. it looks good with the wheels you have on it now, but it looks like the front rubs way too much to be driveable

alright....update.
I decided that the chevy is destined to remain a shelf queen......heck, it's got a lift kit, but no 4WD, and hasn't had a motor in it for about a year. the others all get driven on a regular basis..... so the bearings and Hot Racing alloy front spindles came out of it and went onto the Brat's Chassis. in the swap, I also noticed that the bearing caps are the same in design, but the ones for the trucks have dots to look like drilled AND slotted rotors, and are a touch larger: these are for different sides, which is why the slots go different ways. truck on the left, car on the right. this might be old news. I'm a total Evo Car newb. I've bought 4 truck starter kits and 2 gen1 kits, not to mention all the upgrades... so I swapped in the "big brake kit" while I was at it. you can't really see the brakes through the AR wheels on the truck anyway. as I suspected, this essentially eliminated the tire rub. the car car roll and turn with zero problems as long as the suspension doesn't compress any.....problem not solved, but wayyyy better. another discovery. I noticed the builder backed out the screws on the tops of the knuckles most of the way to give it a little suspension lift.....which works fine, until the suspension does compress, at which point it gets caught on the threads. I think I can replace those with the screws from the trucks to eliminate this problem, and give it just a touch more lift while I'm at it. just got to dig around this drawer full of parts to find some of those screws..... EDIT: just swapped those suspension screws out: truck on left, car on right. the extra length on the threads was a total non-issue, they just threaded further into the knuckles. gave a touch of lift, even over where it was before with the stock screws backed way out: you can see the right side (our left) has the car screw in there, threaded all the way in like stock, and the left side has the truck screw. and the difference is enough that the stock side doesn't even reach the ground.....cool! can't give a Gen1 a suspension lift like that! EDIT 2: couple pics of the fender clearance.... obviously better, but obviously would be a problem as the suspension compresses. I think this is all I can do as far as the suspension is concerned (short of locking off the suspension.....which I don't want to do), so the rest will have to be solved with a slight body lift.

hasn't been much modification, but I've been driving it a bit.
BUT, I was playing with my new camera, and took a few pictures of it (with the '96 WRX model in the background) to make an HDR shot...thought I'd share: original, white balance 0: HDR shot using 5 pictures: |
