Default Painting with Scratches on Body?

Do Cuts and Scratches on the body affect the paint when you spray paint the body?

Depends on how deep the scratch is...alot of small ones will dissapear when you sand the body down before the painting process.

You could primer it and then sand it. That would help fill the scratches in.

It really depends on how deep and severe the scratches are...there's a good chance that sanding will do just fine.

That Tamiya putty is good stuff too. You can fix all kinds of crap with it.

woa there was the exact same thread started a while ago.....and if not too deep, just sand over the scratches and then paint. If really deep (like a crater of some sort ) then you can always use putty to fill the hole in.

Also if you go to your local comic book/game store if they sell Games WOrkshop miniatures more than likely they will also have Games Workshop 2 part epoxy which is really awesome. Not only can you use it to fill holes/scratches but you can also sculpt stuff with it.

Yeah, sand the body slowly using sandpaper with more and more grit (for a smoother finish) prime, then spray a few coats, leaving time for each coat to get tacky before applying the next coat. Let it dry completely, then clearcoat! woo

Just sand, primer, paint and polish. If you polish, all the scratches not filled by primer or paint will be removed. It also adds a great finish to your paint job.

Later,
