Time to free the cables...
-I am gona get rid of those cables. -They are out! And i soldered a more stronger ones to the engine and the PCB! -And i am gona make the beloved upgrade! Lithium. Li-fe version. Same power as lithium, but SAFER than nihm! Oh yes! 6.6v -The cable for the Li-fe baterys and the PCB! -Time to dismantle the xmod.... Later i will post more this is gonna be a huje improvement over the patetic 1.2v cells hno: Last edited by targetingxmod; 12-28-2010 at 04:50 PM.. |

More work done!
-batery tray off! Much lighter! -Power cables for Li-fe baterys instaled! And the two extra cells tray removed! -Batery tray removed, and the clips cuted? -Testing...!! -And the li-fe ones without the body! -Li-fe ones with the body. What i can tell is this: -Car much lighter, no stressing cables, and no batery tray, the 4 and the 2 extra. -Absoluty control , extreme CONTROL of the car... only the x-mod PCB is a crap... but does the job! -The baterys having 6.6v, are much, but very EXTREMELY more punchy, HARDCORE speed than 6cells of 1.2v (PATETIC) compared to that! And to get the crown.... i burned the reverse when puting the power cables for the Li-fe ones... it short-circuit and melted imidiatly the antena... and now the car does not reverse!! (i had the baterys conected when testing the cables for power) But rides like a nitro one, fowarding... And these baterys are much safer than Ni-MH (1.2v), yes, and not comparable to the lithium Ion, or poly on the safe side. They can work drilled "with a hole", and have the punch of lithium... the downsize is 6,6v. but believe me, you dont need more! I only see this speeds on 1/8 scale cars nitro! |

i thought the Li-Fe batteries were safer then the Li-Po but were fragle, like if it were to get a hole it it it would die immediatly instead of blow up?

want better? but the information could be screwed to SELL them!! This is the charger i use. Note that on the screen it says Li-fe 7.2v, but on the menu it displays 6.6v. Last edited by DRFTKO; 12-31-2010 at 02:58 AM.. Reason: double post |

hmm, i remember when they first came out people were saying they were just as unstable at Li-Po except when something happened to the that would cause Li-Po to explode the Li-Fe batteries just became unresponcive and that was partly the reason they still needed to be charged with a balancer. either way its a cool set up. and 1/8 scale? lol i've seen a few very impressive 1/18 scales racing around the peach bowl

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkaXVR_g3Xs yep... I bought this NEW for less than 2 euros, so decided to give it a shot! It's a drop suspension kit for truck! -Now i used only the blue springs... they are hard! -On the back! -On the Front Let's see how it ride! On real life, hard springs make the car more grip... hum? Am i wrong? Last edited by DRFTKO; 12-31-2010 at 03:23 PM.. Reason: double post |

I think softer springs (as in this case red springs), are supposed to give you more grip than the hardest springs (blue springs in this case). The yellow springs are in between the two and give you a mix of both setups.
This is what I use each spring for: -Softest/red springs-circuit racing involving more tight turns than straightaways. -Medium/yellow springs-circuit racing that combines a more even mix of turns and straightaways. -Hardest/blue springs-drifting, drag racing. Of course, most people prefer a combination of springs to get the performance that they feel the most comfortable with. Those are just my preferences up above and you may see differently. It just takes trial and error to find the recipe that you will feel the most successful with!

i tried those and the car still flips! I guess is to much speed!
look, one thing... the li-fe baterys should be closed to the inside of the car, or closed to the outside of the car? -On this back photo, they are sited to the outside of the car. -On this photo from the front they are sited to the outside of the car, too! Sorry no photo of the li-fe sited closed to the center shaft... -And a photo from side! -From here they are a little more on the inside of the car... so my question! what gives more balance not to flip cornering? i mean like the guys from "circus" doing the rope walk, they have a stick along the arms... so makes sense the li-fe in the outside? ps: later i found that on these scale everytinh should get to center.. so inside of the car... COG! |

Got it solved!
At least played about 6 charges of the li-fe and fliped only once! So that's perfect now! -So simple. Just make the bely like heavier, like stock! :stupid: More things to come...:flame: |

Ok, more time spending on the xmod truck, gave this....
-Spending a lot of time on the handling project right now... to making it like factory... and the word is: -Some "cientist" had discovered the wheel... so keep the wheel and the lithium ferrite baterys to!! (the wheel is the cells tray!!) -Cuting there and there for a final fit gave that! -And a photo from the side! Got keep the aluminum cells covers on the li-fes!! :hello: |

Finally some videos!!
I really can't make videos like the photos (good quality)... i try, but they came like crap!! Well at least is good enough to see the car playing.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOueA0gobcQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGt8hjmrzh0 And the last one that flips one time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thXyXrSCwrI |

Big problem!
My chilli, gave out. No spining... dead! :dh) But i noticed if i roll on the floor hanging the car by hand it will spin on throttle... so it's the brushes not conecting....! So i take out the brush, and they are like this... -Wear out i think!! -So time to see this new ones.... -The old ones and the new ones.... one silver other carbon/copper? -The soldering process!! :rockon2: -And the solder done... Now plays like new....:vader: |

And for now... a major improvement!
-Yes, it's bearings for the 3 gear of the 4x4! The Red one. -This stuff is so cool! When i put the finger and move it, the 3 gear "red" spins for 6 seconds... beautiful! Imagine what this CAN do, to the car?!?! More to come... almost on the end :cartman: |

Well... almost 95% aluminum all over!
-This is for the rear box front cover, i got the back cover, so now the front back! -The work in progress! -The plastic off, and the alloy on  -And the rear done with full alloy! :4x4 And some video of the grease i puted on the shocks, resulted on that! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oW1iNNDTF6o |

Sometimes my nuts get out!
So i buy this.... -It grabs very very well the nuts. -So well that happened this... crap... but at least now i have the force to secure them absolutly!! :hmm: -And this kind of speed needs this... Custom drop upgrade... yep GPM don't do this.. so plastic will do! Never flipped on me now... with lithium hno: -Look at the back for the lower arms and chassis drop! Notice the Chilli cleaned? Well tomorow i will post pictures of the cleaning process... it NEEDED!! |

The chilli need cleaning... i think
-Yep, cleaning is needed!! -Used this, instead of WD40... WD40 is good but when done ATTRACTS a lot of dirt... and this is an electric degreaser and cleaner! -The arm "boiled"!! -Much clean now... Let's ride!!!!! Someone is asking why drop a hummer... well because of the SPEED! To handle it on the curves... it's so sweet now. Beautiful! -This is the kit.... -And this is the parts used to make the drop! -The front and the back suspension orange arms.. |
