As much of a Nissan die-hard that I am, I must say, none of Nissans cars are actually ready to keep up with a Mazda RX-7 FD. The Skyline can take it at the standstill and at the straights, but once the turns, twisties and chicanes come, the FD will take the Skylines straight out. But lets not turn this into a Mazda vs Nissan thread, okay? |

Ok, the G8 is the holden based GrandPrix, basically. 6.0-liter V8, producing 362 hp and 391 lb.-ft. of torque

you stil dont get it? its got a 6 liter engine making only 362hp, thats 60 hp/L, HHAAAAHAHA, ok seriously tho these engines are really inefficient, even my dads 1997 nissan maxima makes 190hp with 3L (63hp/L), and thats 10 years ago.

HAHAHAH, its detuned smart one. The base engine. The same engine does 400hp in the GTOs. So, how many Jap cars can make over 500hp NA?
And finaly, any jap car? Barely any. Hell, most here wont keep up with our stock 98 jimmy, and its at an easy 180hp, 245 ft lb stock. Much less the G8. Enlightening of the retarded VS rule, lets stop... or else the mods will shut this down

jap cars dont need to and dont want to make that much power, they can tho.
jap cars have small engines but really efficient, the s2000 makes 270hp with just 2.1L i mean comon no american cars can do that lol y would you not want to make the most power out of a given displacement? |

Idiot drivers and lawsuits is why. lol. That, and GM has its performance parts division for those who want to put these engine on the line.
Before you talk efficiency on american V8s, check out the ultima GTR. http://www.ultimasports.co.uk/records/part6.html 406ci 720 hp @6700 630 ft. lbs. torque @4400 rpm Mean little monster, and NA. Thats, effiecient Holds alotta records too, and its from the UK of all places too. -note to mods, this is no VS talk, this is car talk, so you close this, im gonna ***** Edit: Id like to add the Ulitma GTR

ya i know about this car, however compared to other supercars engines this is really nothing, still only 100hp/L, the reason its so fast is because of its power to weight ratio, being 1000 pounds lighter than the enzo will of course give it alot of advantage.

I've seen the Ultima GTR on an episode of Top Gear, that thing is insane!
It got to 80km/h within 100 or so meters inside a stadium (I think its a stadium). I really like the G8 and the new GTO, for once, a present-day car that isn't FWD Just don't like the fact that the G8 is so boxy. Is it out already in America? |

AHEM, screw that rule, were not flaming.
It comes out late this year, but is already out in Aussie land. Hey man, that little chevy motor is smaller than a Lambo's, and puts out more power than the crazy LP640. Though, more displacement also gets ya more torque NA also. EX: You can have a Chevy 350 and a 502 both making 500hp, but the 502 is gonna have more torque, with the higher displacement. And that ultima kit car is an easy $40,000
