i have two drifters one with just the rear diff locked and one with both front and rear and they both drift perfect but the car with front and rear locks would also be a good rally car with some normal rims and tires on a dirt track but either having the front diff locked is alright for drifting but i spend more time driving my one with only th rear locked

I have a question about having a locked rear differential, how much of a difference does it make turning wise if I was to lock it? I understand the whole point of having an open differential, just curious.

well its going to depend on if you have awd or not. in my drift rig with the locked rear diff it turns fine whe i have normal tires but if your running rwd it will be a little harder to turn cause the fron tires wont be pulling you around the turn so they will want to slide so if u got awd you will not notice a difference in steering and your car will take off straighter

locked diffs are for anything where traction is limited (offroad), or where turning isn't needed (drag). if used while turning on the pavement, it will hinder traction.

if the rear diff is locked, it will induce oversteer. if the front is locked, it will induce understeer. AWD with just a locked rear is PERFECT for drifting.

I've got a number of extra Gen1 diffs, would people be interested in buying pre-locked ones? I've had mine locked for years, and it's held up great. and it's completely reversible (no glue).
