Hmmm Good Question
I'd recomend not to only the oil is their for lube and help with heat especially something like that drive shaft and the oil prevents from parts sticking, however i think it would be ok to remove some oil since I've noticed that xmods out of the kit sometimes have too much. lastly give it a whirl remove all the oil and see how your car performs if ya notice an issue due to a lack of lube or something then just add the oil back.

I think that just about everything is on an Xmod for a purpose (sp? I'm tired). I wouldn't mess with it, maybe if I had a spare. This could be interesting, if you used a speed checker with a greased vs. ungreased Xmod.

naw its fine degrease everything you can and put a little tiny drop of "3 in 1" oil on the moving parts and bushings..

Hi. New here so be nice :-) I degreased my bearings then packed with Phil's Waterproof grease. I also put a dab on the diffs. No problems so far. Any debris that gets around the dog bones I just blow out. I love these little cars, much more advanced than my Associated 12e.
Thoughts on the bearing grease instead of 3 in 1 oil? Thanks! |

Wow! My ten dollar coupon is working wonders toward my xmod nimh mod. FYI...4 AAA nimh seperate $20....xmod 'battery mod' $25 w/8 yes 8 AAA cells PLUS charger...find a 'shack that's closing....LOL
And the grease is holding it's own so far. More to report as more run times increase. Thx -jme |

I think bearing grease is to thick "3 in 1" or sewing machine oil is perfect
