You need to use MDF for the speaker box. You'd notice a significant difference.

Birch is the twice the strength and half the weight, much more preferred for sub boxes, and offers wider sound response

I know my stuff

MDF is the "cheapest, best" wood to use. Birch is the next step up

MDF= less resonating and less warping than birch...and it's significantly cheaper.

Not true on the warpingggg

Also, less resonating = less bass/vibrations, soooooooooo not what I want.

Ahhh, you were speaking in a sense of solid birch.
Nooo, I'm using Birch PLYwood. Not solid wood.

The way that they're talking about "solid" wood is the birch vs. a particle board...which is what MDF is. I've never seen a birch box in person, I'd be interested in hearing it.

I've seen/heard lots of birch boxes, and I personally think they sound better than MDF. If I was closer to you, I'd definitely let you listen.

If you're ever in Va, or if I'm ever down in your area, I'll let you know. I may actually be down there some time in the summer

Also, update:
All wood has been cut, and actual assemble will be completed some time this weekend hopefully. Only one picture was taken today.
One sub in one hole. (Didn't take anymore pics after this.)

(Click for fullsize. Didn't resize.)

UPDATE: 4/20/2011
I just ordered 30ft of 1/0 wire, some connectors, and new fuses holders.
Rewiring the entire system as soon as possible and adding the Big 3.
Vids/pics of wiring when I do it.

It already sounds good

And as soon as my wire gets here (should be here tomorrow or Friday), it will sound even better.

The look good part, not so much yet... Hahaha. I'm taking the box to a local upholstery shop to get a price quote on getting it wrapped in a vinyl/leather material to match my seats.

Also, in the next few months, I'll be getting the back windows/back windshield/sunroof tinted with 5% tint. I would do the front windows about 35%, but my parent's won't let me do it. Which, I respect that, I'm still on their insurance, and it's illegal.
