First, and probably cheapest that will give the most noticeable gain is a 5 or 6 cell conversion. Parts can be bought at RS and searching this site will provide all the answers you need on how to do it.

well if you want speed i suggest that you first get handling upgrades so you can control your car at those speeds for ex: the GPM front steering alloy plate then you would buy the differential then metal lug nuts and do all the minor mods first then get into engines cause if you go and buy the engine without any of the mods it will melt the plastic(trust me, i have experienced it) and the engine goes too, so then the springs and all those other upgrades but like zx9 said, the 5 or 6 cell upgrade isn't a bad idea either.
you can find all sites to purchase these parts here http://www.xmodsource.com/forum/show...151#post128151 and Welcome to xmodsource

my advice first thing to buy is bearings , then a stage 2 motor add to this barts suggestion of a 5 or 6 cell conversion (adding one or two more battery's) i tend to only do 5 cell upgrades as i feel the extra weight of a 6 cell slows the car down , but its your choice
