"Franken-Hummer"
I am inserting the pictures as links because they are a bit on the large side, will fix in the morning.
Here begins a long project. This will most likely not be "finished" until after Christmas. I am doing a few projects at the same time. (This, the Cheerwine Scion, and I'm working on a Titan Crawler) Anyway, my plans for this is basically to "ressurect" this hummer. It has gone through alot, like most people first xmod has. It has numerous layers of paint, and had blown FETs. This will basically be the twin of AtomicMods "Vader" when it is finished. I have not done much yet, execpt I have replaced the board with a board from a chassis I use for spare parts. Pictures of this tomoro. Now, so I don't get in trouble for not having pics, heres some "before" shots. http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...l/000_0019.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...l/000_0010.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...l/000_0009.jpg

both my mustang and hummer starter kit came with blue boards. I bought them at the same time and the mustang is a 05 not a 06 so I'm just guessing that the blue boards are older than the green ones. You said that was your first right? its gotta be older then right.
Just an idea |

yes you need solder. it isnt that hard to do, juat unsolder all wires going to it, and resolder to the new board. BUT, with the orange/black/white wires at the front of the board, you may need to make sure you put them in the same order as original, im not sure, but it would better to do it. and MUST be careful that NO solder leaks over onto any other metal tabs (this is difficult without a fine tip solder iron, i know, and it is easy to mess up like that on the orange/black/white wires.)
honestly, i didnt know anything about what i was doing when i did it, but it works fine.

no prob.
anyway, just a minor update. body update: I have been sanding for a while and barely any paint came, I mite have to use a different approach (or courser sandpaper) chassis update: not much yet, but I have been cleaning up the places where the clips for the battery tray were. just so nothing pokes into the LiPos when I get them in. just a question, would be a smart idea to solder the Antenna on? would it hurt anything? i want to do this ust so i don't have to risk pokeing into the LiPo's when removing/replacing the antenna.

Dont do it, you still need to take it off when working on it. Its easy to bump that antenna into the slightest power source, and you find your self having to replace inductors.
If it worries you too much, get an antenna tube, or heat-shrink wrap the antenna

Well, before the hack, I had one or two updates and the following statement:
Because the "Franken-Hummer" is now a Bronco, I feel the name does not fit it. I will be posting a new thread for the Bronco, and when I paint the Hummer, I will post it in the Appearance section. Until I post the new thread, feel free to PM me with any questions and comments. If you ask any good questions in the PM, I will just quote you and put it in the new thread so other people won't have to ask, as well as answering you via PM. Thank you. Esta bestia se arrastrará en ninguna hora. Anyway, I am almost done installed the gearbox, but I have a problem or too...
