did it ever occur to you that that is the only one we've seen (with exceptions of going to rs and seeing them in person)? maybe each car has a few different frequencies.
also, yeah, if it wasn't for rs, i would be a ricer. eww...

Well, think about it guys.
RadioShack's stock is only at around $17. So, in order to save money, RS have to cut corners. Because Xmods is a popular product, it would make sense for RS to keep the line, but also cut corners there. For example, because the crystal was removed, there are two things that don't have to be manufactured, the thing that the crystal goes into, and the two crystals to the controller and Xmods. Also, no need for the stickers that denote them. Less stuff, less money.

I just picked up mine today. I had to ask them to get it from the back, because they hadn't even had the time to put them on the shelves, lol.
Anyway, so far, what I've found: Pros: -Much less wheel slop. Bearings are still a good idea though. -Common fracture points seem to have been reinforced. -The FETs are different. Not sure if thats good or bad, Ill pull up the spec sheet for the new FETs later. -Although I am disappointed that it is essentially an EVO, Im glad that I can use my older parts on it. -The body was clean and molded well, unlike some of the newer EVOs (My Scion had tons of defects) Cons: -The crystal, which you guys have been complaining about... -Nothing new to tinker around with. -Too much plastic. I know plastic is cheaper, but they could've at least done some of the crucial parts in aluminum. -Its from Radioshack... lol. I'll probably end up showing it off later, as I've already begun modifications, and I've only had it for a few hours. |

the models are not band specific. i just picked one up and it says right on the box what band it is. band 10 is what mine is. and i looked at the other boxes and they have different bands. so you cant still race friends with it. i will be tearing it apart later to check for differences. ill get pics of it torn apart and any differences i notice.
so first thing i notice was the rear lower a arms are different. they reinforced them some. and the rear gearbox has been strengthened. here some pics also the battery cover now has a screw. i'll put some more pics up after i tear into it
