Default Truck's radio range

My nissan titan has lost all of it's range, I now have to be within 5 feet of iit for it to work, I think that I broke something on the circuit board when I used a lithium battery on it, but I have seen lots of X-mods work fine with a lithium. every thing else is completely stock. Help!

Check the batteries in the handset and (assuming they are still connected) the charge in the liths.

Make sure that you have the switch set to Hi on the controller and for giggles make sure the steering range is set to make, this way we can ensure that full power is being thrown at the truck.

What is it you think you broke on the board? Did you overheat it when soldering? Did something fall off? Are there any burned spots or does it smell funny?

It wasn't a permanent mod, all I did was solder the ends of of the battery harness the the clips on the truck when the triple A's would go. Nothing smelled funny, I looked at the board and it seems normal, nothing melted or anything. The controller's antenna had broken about a week earlier, so I had put on a replacement one from a hobby store which was much longer. I don't think that that is the problem though, It worked well with the long antenna until I put the lipo's in. It just stopped after about a minute of easy driving, nothing fast or anything. The only part affected is the range.

I guess test with a stock antenna just in case but I don't see that as being a problem! I guess you must have fried the range resistors.... I believe the atomicmods kit works with evo's but might be worth looking over the tutorials first....

Which tutorials? On atomic Mods? Sorry, I'm pretty new. EDIT: I looked on atomic mods, there wasn't one exactly about replacing the whole board, but I know what I would have to do, I may try it, but first, I and going to try a different radio and crystal from my new Xmods of ebay when they get here.

You could have shorted the board by having 2 wires connect on the lithium. Whoever soldered the lithium in could have screwed up your board.

Ehh, I don't think it's shorted, considering its range. Hmm check what big dude said.
