Hondas seem to be a very very tough bike indeed. I have a 1970 Honda Trail 70 that my dad got new when he was like 12-13 years old. He rode it for many many years, the speedo cable broke at 6,000 miles and he was still riding it years after. I got it when I was 9 now 19 still riding it cuz it fun!!! We got a speedo cable 3 years ago since then I put almost 3,000 miles on it so do the math for the other 7 years!!! It has been bored over 3 times now still running strong no smoke. Great Runner. My dad and I figure there is probably over 20,000 miles on this lil Honda Trail '70. My dad also has a 1978? Yamaha IT250 2cycle dirt bike AWSOME!! Very Very FAST Very fun to ride, will go over backwards on you if not paying attention. The 2cycle never bothers me (love the smell). This bike has never let my dad or I down when out riding it besides maybe running out of gas LOL. I think though it's all in what you are used to.

ok for you i would go for a 200 + cc 4 stroke, one because it will keep up to the 2 strokes your looking at and it will be a good learning bike for you, any make is ok as long as it isnt a chinese imatation bike, they are poor quality and cheaply designed with no strength what so ever so go for a brand name bike at all costs

well having owned both brands they are both of high quality and having friends with ktms, and kawis they have all been good along with suzis, so no matter what way you go it will be good as long as you get a 00 and up year of bike, in my experience the only great bike ive had was a 06 ttr 125, not e(baseline bike with e start) or l(big wheel that has disc brakes) or le(has both of these), just a baseline bike, and i was able to go down logging roads at full throttle for about 45 mins lol 95% full throttle for those 45 mins, and i did it about 4-5 time per week and she never broke once!!! and then i had to go back lol so 90mins both ways full throttle, and she never lost any power, and in the snow as well she never even flinched, best bike ive ever owned, and having 4 years of riding behind me i know when the bike starts to lose power lol
