You know, thats crazy X, haha. I guess, using small hinges, you could in theory do a hard top convertible. I actually dont see it being so off-the-wall hard. If you study enough hard tops in motion, you can get an idea. Though on modern cars its more of an engineering art form.. Ever seen an XLR drop its top? Its like watching transformers
Hmm, I have some ideas, PM me later if you want.

What? You shoulda sent this one to blown and have him done his magic work!
Looks good though, beautiful car.. The hard-top thing is harder than it looks. I attemped it a few years ago, and you need more small hinges than you think... And there's a chassis under there, so weres the roof going?

i've seen those drop top cars ar Target, i dont think they're 1/28 tho, they look smaller to me, maybe i'm thinkin of a different one, but if its the same they're pretty cool, im sure you could use the hinge machanism to you're advantage

@ sweed -this is only an idea for now - I have draw a few sketches and stuff to help me out but I think to actaully make it will be the problem. I was also think that a soft top woulf be way easier - it doesn't need to be stowed away totally becasue it can fold up along with the convertible roof. If you watch how the soft top functions it's easy to see how I can probablt make a smaller scale one. It will all be manual ofcoarse becasue there's no way any other motors or so can fit under that shell . Anyone can leave suggestions if they want - it's just an idea but hopefully if there's a good way of making it - maybe then i'll try to make it sooner

samll update 8/13/07
Thanks guys for the comments and suggestions!
Here's just a small update: I've taken everything apart and i'll masked off a things then i'll finish adding the rear cover with Tamiya Epoxy putty. After I've done that I'll start sanding then I'll add the other interior parts so that it can be ready painting. I'll keep you guys updated on my progress.
