onestly i dont know how they live every time i do that but they do, lol i guess its all the respect i have for my cars, since every time i see some one else try what i do they get thier car so bashed up they dont work ever again.

do gen 1 motors work with evos? Is the motor upgrade kit interchangeable?

not without modification. i think you could do it, but just the motors and no mods to the chassis, hell no.

thanks. So the Stage 2 upgrade kits for gen 1 and evos are different? Can anyone else confirm this?

All you have to do is take off the brass pinion from the gen1, and then put on the plastic pinion from the evo motor, and then swap the motor wires.

which is a total pain in the butt or find someone who can get the right motor and gears.
