Default Can you use a hobbygrade brushed esc and reciever?

This will be my first post, new to the site.

My question is can you rip all the electronics out of a xmod, solder the motor to a brushed esc, and put a micro reciever in it, and hook up the brushed esc and servo up to it.

Seems like it would be a great setup, since they sell tons of micro 10amp brushed esc's now

thanks in advance

The hardest part is getting the motor to sit right.... the electrics shouldn't even be a question... you know they work in another car so why wouldn't the work in an Xmod...

how would it be hard to get the motor to sit right? you could just use a 130 size motor with he new esc.
