Default 2008 Gt-r Gt500

Dr. Kustom really did a number on this one! I did all of the race prep, and figured out the paint scheme -- Then the Doctor worked his magic and here's the result.

The paint scheme itself helps me drive better, letting me ignore the front splitter and tail end of the car so I can hold tighter cornering lines and go faster. This car currently holds the three fastest lap times at the RC Kenon track for a 70t motored car, and I haven't even tuned the aero yet.

Front end:
  • PN Reverse Kingpin Front Suspension
  • Tower bar raised 0.2mm
  • PN steering knuckles, 0.4mm shims above knuckle, 0.5mm below
  • PN MR03 Orange springs
  • Custom spring holder
  • 0 droop
  • 0 toe
  • 2deg caster
  • 0deg camber arms -- ~ 0.5deg static camber
  • 1.5mm ride height
  • PN 20mm ABS rim +2N
  • PN 20deg slick tire, trued to 23mm
Rear end:
  • PN FRP T-plate #3
  • PN Reconfigurable Motor Pod (98mm)
  • PN Tri-shock
  • Side springs: 3racing AWD Black (soft)
  • Side damper grease: Kyosho 15000
  • Main spring: PN Blue (2nd softest)
  • Main rebound spring: PN MR02 Yellow (hardest)
  • Main damper grease: Kyosho 15000
  • Lightweight differential: 53t 64p PN locking spur, 5 balls
  • PN 70t Stock motor: 11t 64p pinion
  • PN 20mm ABS rim +3W
  • PN 8deg slick tire, trued lightly to scrub surface coating
PCB/ICS:
  • 3x2 AN0113 FET stack
  • GAIN: Strong
  • SPEED: Fast
  • PNCH: 2
  • D.BAND: Narrow
  • DUMP: Over
  • D.FREQ.: 1.2kHz
  • NUTRAL: Mid
  • VINERTIA: Off
  • BAKTIM: 1
  • ST.GAIN: 250
  • TH.GAIN: 250

absolutely stunning...body and performance wise...

although i think the inner workings could use a shot of compressed air
is that all track foam/dust? from ripping up the track of course

That's a good look chassis, Brian! Did you forgot to clean the chassis before you leave the track? Good to know that you're doing well with the GT-R too. Can't wait till see the aero upgrades!

Also, does your rear wheels rub against the wheel well when the suspension is compressed?

Hey great to see you around.. The car looks sweeet... You know I don't live that far from RC Kenon (about 45 mins) I would love to come see you race there sometime.

I prefer to clean my cars at home/dorm, not during race nights -- don't wanna risk getting dirt into the very vulnerable ball differential. Having a bad diff alone costs me 0.15 seconds per lap! lol...

And yes, all that dust is straight from the RCP. The dust has a way of getting stuck in the "dead airspace" between the body and chassis, and it doesn't help that I have exposed grease in my damper tubes -- it just sticks and doesn't come off without a good brushing. After I clean it off my car will actually be a full gram lighter.

Dr. K, my GT-R is lowered about 2mm further than the stock clips will allow, and my chassis bottoms out on the ground just before the rear tires (24.5mm diameter) touch the fender. The fronts (23mm) aren't even close, I have so much room I'm going to run the fronts at 24mm next time I race (slightly more front grip).
