Wrong board, but very impressive. This could benefit MAs that are taken outside since they're the only Z that can handle pavement and survive.

So, here is the spec on an actual solar cell

Cell Specifications:
Average Power (Watts): 1.75 Wp
Average Current (Amps): 3.5 Imax
Average Voltage (Volts): 0.5 Vmax
Thickness 190 μm = 0.19 mm
Exact dimension: 3 1/4 inches x 6 inches, or 80 mm by 150 mm
Weight: Just above 6 grams, or 0.2 oz.

Notice this one is WAY larger than the one on the car pictured. You do the math.

You should wire up 10 or more of those solar boards. Interesting idea. Any video?

If you plan on using a body, disguise it as a sunroof.

I call shenanigans.

The video does not show the same car that had no batteries being placed on the ground. Those cells from a calculator, even in the sunlight they would not have enough out put for an xmod, much less in a room with fluorescent bulbs. Several guys on XMS even went threw the calculations of using much higher quality solar cells to power them and found that the size panel needed to produced the power and current for the xmod would have exceeded the size of the car.

Unless your using the solar cell to charge some battery, which is another story. But then it's not being solar power, just charged.

Your forgetting that the solar panel is directly connected to a rechargable lithium ion battery.I'll make a better vid.with the wheels offset so that you can see the servo working.

Wouldn't be enough.
Solar Cells have no where near enough power to power a xmod.
You could do a 'charge and dump' circuit to build power in a cap (or battery) for a few hours (with TONNES of cells) and then drive for about five seconds.

I'm with Tex. BS.
