Default Project:UberFast 18R

I don't really have anything to new or exciting to share about my 18R than what I have in other threads, but I figure I might as well throw it all in one thread so here it is. Modifications to date include dean's plug swap, carbon fiber driveshaft, and a Tekin Rage 5.4 kV brushless system with tunable speed control. One major performance upgrade doesn't seem like much, but as you will see it has made all the difference in the world.

Future plans include 3 cell 11.1 Li-po batteries, and maybe a completely adjustable custom engineered and designed chasis if my school will let me do that as a final project next semester... look for materials such as carbon fiber, aluminum, and maybe titanium if i'm feeling rich. Anyways, heres some pics and vids of the car as it is now. enjoy.

close up of the motor (i have since removed the fan)

look at the carbon fiber driveshaft

just the chasis

the money shot

it even looks fast sitting still

and finally a few vids.

Disclaimer:
if swear words offend you, theres one in the the third video so turn the volume down.

The skate park is no place for a car.. Get a Truck in there. Looks like it would be fun with a MC-T.. But mine wouldn't be able to handle it. The steering keeps popping loose..

What kind of diffs are you running. Im haveing a problem keeping ball diffs together with two motors in the propulse. Melted a RC18 diff a few days ago when the superglue locking it together failed. But I have a lot of spare propulse diffs thankfully, lol.

Tekin ESC! Nice! You've got the cleanest wiring of any small-scale R/C I've ever seen! Nice work with the heat shrink!

I like the rims on the Gen1, we're you get them? Are they Top Cad rims? Looking good. XI's Chassis? How much does it flex?

Oh, yah. The Buggy/Car looks pretty cool. I think it's too plasticy (the Revo has so much blue!) and stuff.. But it looks good... Time for you to go Dual BL..

How's this, or is it too small?

The wheels are topcad pieces from rcmart, and that chasis is my custom designed spyder chasis, theres a thread about it somewhere. i only made one and i'm not making another anytime soon.

I actually like the plastic, it's more resilient than aluminum, at least what i put it through, and cheaper to replace too when it breaks.

dual BL?

Very impressive. Personally, I wouldn't want to own one of their stock bodies because they're way to boxy for my opinion..but the chassis is a great design. Also, the price for a stocker ain't half bad.

Impressive, to say the very least.

the third vid was the only one that did any damage, it broke one of the control joints on the rear suspension on that last HUGE fall, that was from over 20 feet high. thats it, no other damage. so all things considered, its a friggin tough little chasis.

Allright, thanks. Ill have to try some RC18 diffs. I cant keep mine locked in the rear, slips too much from the dual motors.
