Default Project: Zele 370z

So, I got a 370z body from FloydfanYodaman a bit back.

(tadaa)

(For those of you who don't have a 370z, I painted that bit you see flat black)

The 370z is nice, but I'm not a big fan of the whole "bulldog" look of the grill. So, I decided to change it up and try to make the Zele 370z.

First things first, I cut off the grill.

Saved the front clip holder for future use.

Added some putty.

And smoothed some of it out.

Probably just that bright orange in those pictures.

Well, the original putty wasn't mixed too well, so it was a bit soft in places, so I scraped off that putty and added some new one.

Did some more work.

Added a bit of styrene on the bottom for a lip.

Puttied a bit up

Fixed some more minor things

Moar putty

And then I realized if I kept the styrene there, then I'd mess up the placement for the lip. So I ripped it off.

The putty wasn't really attached to it, so nothing too bad.

The green stuff is Milliput putty. The tan stuff is Tamiya Light Curing putty.

the second picture in your last post is remarkable imo. you really did it with those sharp, smooth curves. great job!

@SnoOpy, tamiya quick type is something you can learn with but you're better off using the one that comes in the purple case for a first trial (dries twice as long, gives longer curing and sculpting time)

tnx guise.

Started the body lowering process and shaved down the rear clip holder a few mm. Can't do the front yet since the front clip holder isn't there.

It's not 'hellaflush' but I'll work on fixing that.

Started work on the side skirts.

I noticed the curvature of the bottom of the door was a bit off from scale so I decided to decrease the angle it jutted out at.

Shaved it all off.

Working on puttying it back.
