Default Project: RCP ripper

Well, I couldn't think of anything else to call it so...

Basically, its a modded (or to be modded for that matter) gen1, seeing as the suspension geometry is favorable to track racing. Its gonna feature some Z standard stuff including an improved tie rod system (probably based off of color's MRCG) and *drastically* improved rear suspension (T-plate, anyone?)

Anywho, here's the list of upgrades:

Intellect 750 NiMh cells
Medium rear springs
Soft front springs
Pan car body mounted
42t pattern wind in M1 case set
18g wire
Ball Bearings all around
Micellaneous (sp?) weight savers
30wt shock oil (dampens surprisingly well, but is a mess to clean up)
Atomic compound 20 treads 9.5mm
*T-plate system
*Improved tierod system

Anywho, the electronics will remain stock (mostly) in order to be legal in HFAY and other stock class competitions.

Oh yeah, my kickass pan car body. Airbrushed by Davey G. on MZR (amazing airbrush skills)

(You'll have to excuse my crappy pics)

Later,
RedSXmodder

Thirty weight sounds a little heavy to me, surprised you like that much stiffness. Thirty weight is actually what I use in my Axial..

Please, try to get better pictures of the body. I would love to see the paintjob he did on this pan body; he truely is an amazing painter.

Maybe some outdoor shots would help...

Hey, its only $2.00 to send it to you to take the pics, so I might just have to...

I'd add some hefty insurance to that package. If you're really up for it or for anything else, like more armatures, drop me a few lines.

You should submit this to HFAY. Although, I don't believe you could use that motor.. I have to check the rules again.

I know I can't use the motor, they use a handout system. I'd just use my motor for "practice"

Ooh, I like where this is going! Any estimates on how long it'll take? Tell Davey G. That he did an amazing job!

HFAY is a 1:28th scale racing competition. It's generally done with the Kyosho MiniZ series, but some people are bold enough to use the RadioShack Xmods series. Quite fun, actually. I can't wait to get out to my states GTG (get to-gether) and race.

Problem is, I have no idea where my state GTG is, lol

Seriously, I think that an outdoor shot should give this thing some help. It helped this NSX, right?

EDIT: Here's my camera, anyone wanna help me out with the settings?

Closest HFAY GTG for your would be: MiniRC Speedway in Milwaukee. Here's the link to them on MZR: MiniRC Speedway.. If now, plan to come to Michigan and I'll make sure to make those races too.

Where is the Michigan area race held at? I should pay you a visit, Kyle, maybe race sometime.

I'd probably have to catch a plane though...

Litte bit, yes. He has some nice, crisp and flowing lines for the flames; very good work and very, very cool design concept.

Wow! Donziikid, I was in Ann Arbor a few years back. We have some cousins who live there, if I ever go there again, I'll plan to race you. RedSXmodder, that is very attractive! Do you think that they will know it is not a Mini-Z? There used to be some good XMOD races around here. Now I plan on taking some of mine to my LHS's indoor track.(preferably for larger scales.)

So....

After 4 hours of eating Mike n' Ikes, and burning my fingers on the soldering, I finally got the HS-55 servo wired up. Let me say, it works beautifully! I'd say at least 50% better than the stock servo, even on the crappy tx/rx system.

Then, to add to my joy, my package from XI came. In it, was my M1 motor case kit. I popped in a 42t pattern wound, FAT comm'ed arm and soldered on the motor wires. Needless to say, I was nothing short of impressed at the new motor case kit. It is beautiful! Not only that, but it shreds!

Now, the next things on the list are some +3 offset MA-010 rims (butt loads truer than stock xmod rims) to get the rims under the wells of the body (they're a *bit* shallow inside the body right now, lol).

So, the upgrades right now are:
42t pattern wound arm in M1 motor case
Intellect 750mAh high performance cells
Ball-Bearings all around
Relocated Antenna
Atomic 20 degree treads
Hitec HS-55 servo
Metal Lug nuts
Pan Car body

Later,
RedSXmodder
