Default Suicide's Garage Thread.

Hey guys. I just figured that I'd share with you all the work that we do here when we get bored. I'll try to keep this updated with pics as much as possible. Today, a friend came over with his Honda Accord and wanted to paint his rims with Plasti-Dip and overlay a red pinstripe. We wound up doing just that and sprayed his grille, as well. Here are some before pics.

(^That's to show the grille as it was factory, those wheels aren't on it anymore)

(^These are the Mitsubishi Montero 17" rims that he put on it)

(^That's the car completed, painted grille and rims)

(^Side view)
Thanks for looking. More to come!

Subaru build!
I'll let the pics do the talking, I'll answer any questions if you have some...

Basically, we're pulling out the stock 305 hp engine and going in with a Cosworth block capable of 700 hp, but tuned down to 500. I'll post more details tomorrow.
Oh...and here's the brake upgrade for the S10...late model blazer spindles, dual piston front calipers, beefy rotors, dust shields, and single piston rear calipers...$80...woot.

I have one question why the hell would you get a tuned down motor if its capable of 700 Id want 700 not 500. But other then that it look pretty **** good and the green on the brakes look sick now if only it matched something on the truck too

It's going to match a bunch on the truck
The motor's going to be tuned down because the tranny and cv shafts are remaining stock for now. 500hp for a street car is manageable...700 would be crazy. Ken Block's Gymkhana 2 STi only put down 565 (I think)

Sure. The subaru looks like crap at the moment because the front end is torn down, but I'll get some more later...and of the new block, intake manifold, intercooler, turbo and all the goodies. We're going to drop it a couple inches, paint the wheels black, and may paint a few other parts flat black on it next weekend...but pics will be posted tonight.

This is obviously a fairly new (08/09) STI based on the wheels and body style, so why the new engine??
Is this your car or is this what you do for work? Can't wait for more pics.

His friend killed like 2 stock engines, and figured warranty wouldn't pay for another. Something along those lines.

Factory boost is like 14 psi (?) He raised the boost to 20 psi, cracked piston #3 and the warranty covered it. After he got it back, he raised the boost again and we have no idea what's wrong with it until we split the old block. 8k miles on the original engine. Yesterday, we got the tumbler deletes on, the fuel rails, and i had to solder up a plug that looks like it got too close to the exhaust and melted the wires on. Today, we're going to try and swap over the cam gears, install the intake manifold, and get all the little sensors swapped over to the new block. I hope you guys liked the green that I put on my brakes.

P.s.- It's my best friend's car. We're just doing the work at my house because I've got tons of tools. So far, we've got everything done with the tools that I already have besides having to buy an 8mm allen socket. Neither of us are mechanics...

Thanks, Mike. We've been hitting a dry spell on the car lately due to the owner being sick and my having to handle other things around the house. This weekend, we should hit it hard and we plan on getting a program to adjust it from 300-500-700 horsepower with the stock boost controller. (hopefully) More updates this weekend. =)
