loose wire or faulty switch or fail motor. Do a switch bypass and forget about the switch.

Cutting and kicking back in...

Is your xmod close or far away? What surface are you driving on? What kind of chassis do you have? Evolution/Street-Series/Generation.1?

I do believe the Street's have range problems/crystal problems which could be your problem.

The Evo's/Street's have the same location for the power switch I do believe..

The Gen.1 chassis has the power switch a little toward the right, instead of in the middle.

If you are driving on a surface with bumps/rocks or foreign objects that could turn the switch off possibly.

Hard time doing smooth acceleration, might be from binding in the bearings or any part of the driveline.

Does your remote have the antenna connected to it? Is the Antenna on the chassis itself properly connected?

See if any of these things work... If not, more information would be plenty helpful!

Blade.

Sorry about the lack of info. I have a gen 1 I believe with the power switch slighty off center to the right. Its a suby. It will cut out on any surface (carpet, hardwood) the antenna does have a good connection on the remote and the car. The problem occurs even when im 2 feet from the car. But range does seem to effect it some.

I ahd this same problem with my street 2010 stang, it would go,stop, and go again, kinda like traction control, but i fixed this problem by swapping the stock motor with another stock, but with some better 104 capacitors.

Is the antenna for your controller broken or even slightly bent? This could cause the freq. to go off in weird areas. It sounds like your having range problems or your xmod is going out of range.

It defently seems to be a range problem but it occurs even when its 6 feet away. The antenna seems to be in fine condition. could it be a bad crystal?

Explains it right there. Unless there could be something that is interrupting the signal.

If it's interrupting the signal, it could be a cell phone, satelite radio, radio, anything running on a frequency.

If not, Kevin just answered your question.

Items to fix this problem are :
1) Replace range FETs
2) Board swap
3) Hobby-Grade board swap
4) Buy a new xmod?

Well I tried something crazy such as fully extending the antenna and it worked wonders. It still cuts in and out once it gets about 30-40ft away but im geussing thats normal.

That's about the range that your xmod can go from you is roughly 40ft.

Good thing you solved it out eh?

Happy new year also eh?
