nothing special really,T Maxx classic in the process of being converted to 3.3

i just bought a new 3.3 and got that broke in and i've got a big ol' box of 3.3 parts to put on it but i figured i'd leave the classic parts on for some carnage pics..

zippo's pic of the truck.

my pics with the 3.3 and onboard EZstart.(just need another hump pack)

beater body....quickie paintjob.

this ones going to be the purdy shell.
'56 chevy truck

updates soon
cheers
got a little progress between work, turkey day(weekend) and chores.

woo hoo....i gots lights!

it took a bit of time, patience and creative thinking but it's custom and only cost me about $12 to put together.

imma sucker for details and realism so a 5mm housing poking out the front just wouldn't do.....so....i made some headlight buckets by heating plastic and pressing it into a 15mm socket with an 8ball marble.

6 5mm 1000mcd LEDs on top and two 10,000mcd on the fenders make up the brakelights.

this pic shows my first choice for brake lights but the LEDs were dimmer then the others so i swapped em for the 10k's

wiring shots....(sorry for the mess but if my work space isn't clutterred then i'm lost..)

fully wired and ready to go.
i opted for three 3v batts for longevity, brightness and the fact that if i split the load i didn't have to bother with series configs and resistors.

here's the money shot(s)!

one thing i liked about making the headlight buckets was finding out how well they dispursed the light like a 1:1 bucket.
i was kinda worried that all you would see was the diode....

now i get to pull it all back apart and start paint!!

i'm open to suggestions on the paint scheme if anyone has .02 they could spare.
my only requirement is that it includes black/silver and green.

cheers,

lol thanks guys.

since all my Xmods are gone........

here's some of the other stuff i've been working on since my last post.

this rustler came in a lot of other parts and was about 60% complete when i got it.
i started throwing spare parts on it,got it running and threw it on the shelf.
me and my freind scot got to looking at it and decided to start throwing some cash at it to give it to his brother as an Xmas present.
Xmas has passed and mike still hasn't gotten it....atleast he knows he's got one though right?
i'm still having engine troubles due to using old worn down mills but the rest is strong and purdy.

i painted it up to mimic the 1:1 camaro he had just sold.

this body also came in the parts lot with the rusty but is 1/5 scale so it's too big to fit any of my rides.
soooo, i decided to paint it up for ****'s and giggles.

i present to you.......Frightnin' McQueen!

and that's how it stands as of now.
i still have the rear bumper and the door numbers to paint.

more to come soon.
cheers,
