Default Thinking about gettin a Micro-T for my small scale side...

I think I am basically done with Xmods (look out for my for sale threads in a week or two) soooooo, I was wondering - what do you guys think about the Micro-T or Micro-DT? I was considering those for small scale indoor driving (since I use the Savage Flux HP outdoors)...

What are your general opinions on the Micro-T and DT ? Will it be a good choice?

well, i sugget your first upgrades are bearings and a metal tranny case with bearings, and maybe the turnbuckle set
with those, your car is pretty much indestructable

its fun, but i am starting to miss xmods(thats why in july, i will be starting a project[its also for the urc summer comp ] and im hoping it will be a big project, not small comestic stuff..)
back on topic,

both the t and dt are fun, but i love the look of the t much more, idk why

but i love the dt rims/tires more.. im a confused person on that.. lol

buts they are super fun to mess around with

for speed, they go around 15ish mph, stock, with bearings

for more speed, you either go brushless, or you get a bb2

somewhere on mtf, there is a conversion table, and the bb2 is equivilent to i think 12000kv(i may be wrong, but im 95% sure im right)

i say, go for it

I love my Micro-T. Personally, I think Xmods are a little limited on what they can do and the Micro-T is a step up. I'd say the two most important upgrades are bearings and the nut and thread thingy instead of e clips for the wheels.

i just got my dt not too long ago and alot of people prefer the dt because of the wheels and tires and the longer wheelbase makes it more stable

as stated above bearings, and the threaded axles are a must

also you can use the xtruck springs on the shocks to make them a little more stiff as the stock springs are a little on the soft side

Stock 160mah nimh battery can only give you 10 min ride. upgrade the power source for longer running time.

Ok, I decided to go with...........the Micro-DT!!! I think I made a great choice and like the fact that the longer wheelbase allows you to use a little bigger battery = more runtime, etc.

I was going to look for a used one that was already upgraded, etc. but I have gotten tired of buying other peoples "junk" and messed up upgrades so I am just gettin it brand spankin new and take it from there! The Savage Flux HP I bought recently (used and "upgraded") was a lesson learnt. She is finally coming together

Its funny how some people discover how to use a screw driver and become "master upgrader".... Aaaaaanyways I will keep you guys updated in this thread on my success with this once I get it that is.... oh I also need to update my Flux thread too lol.

I bought mine used and it came with lipo and some other extras I love it. I always buy used. My MR-03 was used too. Just kinda screen out the people who don't know what they are doing.

I got it finally and bought it from a nearby seller - I am very happy with it and this thing is a total blast! I like how durable and fast it is (on Losi 2S 7.4V 180Mah Lipo). Oh btw, it came with TWO bodies, original battery, Lipo battery, chargers and a few upgrades (bearings, shocks, axles, etc.) and looks BRAND NEW, I kid you not. Everything in the box with the plastic, etc. All for $90 after making a deal with the guy

Honestly, not tryin to hate on Xmods BUT....if I knew about these way before, I would have got it back then. I just hate the fact that Xmods break so much and then its a royal PITA to find parts!

I totally love that I can go to my LOCAL hobby store and actually get parts for this thing and upgrades, etc. if I wanted! Also, ebay has tons of parts, etc. etc. for it!

Currently havin a blast doin indoor jumps, etc. I might get one of those mini skate board ramps haha.

Pics to follow soon....

Welcome to the Micro-T world

Micros are definitely a step above Xmods (which is why I only use my Xmods for crawling or drifting, things my Micro-T can't do well). There are some minor issues w/ my Micro-T, but I still love it.

all micro-t's have issues, and the most common one is the thermal shut down(esc goes into thermal shutdown more than often) thermal shutdown is caused by the esc working harder and harder to keep pushing the car

it happens more often with lipo+ stock esc unit

there is no permanent fix, but some major thingd that cause the stress is
a) bushings(worn out)
b) the stock tranny(yes, mostly the diff, shimming it helps solve this problem)
c) asking ur micro to go down a giant hill at top speed for over 12 seconds.. lol

idk, when i heard lipo, that what came to mind, just watch out for it

im glad you like it, and i also use it more than i use xmods(xmods are not "hobby grade" if you know what i mean.. i dont mind fixxing them, but they dont get much range, the batteries take long to charge.. its just a drag)

anyways, im hoping to see pix soon
