Default Power to board but not motor????

I installed a tight turn kit and a 6 cell upgrade to one of my cars and now i dont have power to the motor.I have voltage going in the board but when i test it coming out to the motor plug ,nothing. What did i fry? Or is there something else i can do to see what happened.I havent tried to test any other parts of the board cause i was scared i would touch something and cause a bridge and really fry it.On a positive note the tight turn lit works great.

does it still steer? Does the steering center when you turn it on? id you bridge any solder points while installing? Whats my favorite color? Have you tried a different motor? Are the motor wires still attached?

Thats very possible, I installed a 6 cell on my H2 and I blew the drvie FETs. The steering centered etc... Check your FETs for little bubbles, burnt spots etc...

The fets look ok, i cant see any burns or bubbles. I have extra fets and was thinking of stacking anyway.I read somewhere that you dont have to take fried fets off the board to stack? So if i stack 2 on top of the fried ones that should fix the problem?? Someone stop me if this is incorrect cause im going to try it.

sometimes the fets are not noticable "blown up". it could be the fets.you should replace and stack the fets or instal a power regulator board

may seem like a stupid Q but have you tested where the motor wires go to the board ,not just on the motor
could just be a simple bad wire

Yeah i tested the wires, every wire i could think of but nothing loose. ITS FIXED!!!!!! Im not sure why but after a couple of hours of tinkering, all of a sudden it started working????? BUT it smells,no smoke just a funny smell. Im surprised i didnt burn something up cause i tried to stack some fets and failed miserably, im going to try again on another car. This thing flies and turns like a dream! I have a full 80FT basement and thats not enough room to play. AWD and tight turns + Tamiya Torque-Tuned motor + 6 cell = funny as well you know . Xmods just got fun! Anybody know what bodies will work with 6 cells? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS.

My Gen 1 RSX had that exact same smell, almost made me puke. Made my house smell like crap too. But nothings wrong with it, ran fine etc... your car should be fine, mine was.

I know the Subaru, lancer, 65 Mustang [need to raise the rear end], 350Z [maybe] and some others. The RSX is a tight fit, you need to raise the front and rear end for it to fit. What body do you have on it?

look before u plug the batteries in to test volts, when u r done with the install set your multimeter to ohms and check the connections. U should read anything above 0.00 on the motor inputs and around 6.40 on the power input. This will tell you somthing is wrong like a bridge before you go plugging in the power and blowing a fet or somthing.

I can fix it for free if u send it to me. Check my thread " XXX FREE nodding service " for customer satisfaction.

Guess i should read everything. I only read the first few posts. Anyway, now he knows how to test before plugging in the batteries and testing volts. Always test ohms first so you don't fry anything.

Thanks guys for the help.I didnt think about checking the ohms but luckily nothing fried.Still baffled about why it all of a sudden started working.?I dont have a body on it yet.I have to find a better way to route my tight turns kit first its a total mess.
This is the start of my first project car so i will start a project thread this week.I have some pretty wild ideas for the body but dont know yet if they will work.

Tight turns is a hard one. do you have solder experience.

you took off and installed new resistors. The ones as small as a pin head.

Seems like your solder melted off the FETS and you rejoined them while trying to stack some FETS.

OH no i didnt mess with those,is there more than 1 kind of tight turns kits?I bought a tight turns kit from atomic.Had to cut the brown and yellow wires off the servo and solder 2 resistors back in place.I think i would rather replace something on the board than having a gob of wires sticking up in the way.I fried my range last night(I THINK).I installed a brand new servo with the tight turn and after about 5 minutes of running last night it stopped turning.I hope a wire broke!
