Just look at it this way; would you rather be able to play the PS2 online, or have a PSP that can play games, music, movies, get online, homebrew (which unlocks all kinds of magical goodness like playing PSOne games...),....

Homebrew = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homebrew_(video_games)
I'd vote for the PSP. Most guys around here are young, so they need to focus on school. If you get a PS2, you'll be spending too much time on that. Its a bit similar with the PSP, but at least you can do other stuff like surf the net and listen to music. |

Yeah, you can check out that site or go to the one in my sig. Read the homebrew section, it'll tell you a lot.
I'll sum it up: homebrew is only usable on v1.5 or a custom firmware. To get it to v1.5, you can downgrade your PSP (if it's not v3.1). Once you've downgraded to v1.5, you can play all kinds of retro games and download apps and such to sort of customize your PSP and make it one of a kind. You can also download a custom firware if you're on v1.5 which allows you to do a lot more things to your PSP. On the custom firware, you can change the font of your PSP, downoad ANY PSOne game (for free!) and play it on your PSP, and even download.... ISO's (I'm totally against piracy of PSP games, but it's still a possiblity with homebrew). That's just a brief summary. Pretty much hombrew has everything a normal updated version has with a ton more things. It's totally worth it. Like I said, check out that site and don't be afraid to ask questions (sorry mods, not trying to advertise the site, just trying to help... plus you're not losing members to a psp forum anyways lol).

ahh... listenin' to my PSP right now. I love my PSP! just love surfing the net where there is wireless internet. you can get updates without puting a UMD in or connecting to the internet. It has loads of cool things on it. If your going to get one get a 512 MB or the 1024 MB memory card. Plus you can awsome movies and get picture off your computer!
