For soldering fets???? Really that high of a wattage I thought that the higher you go the more likely you are to burn it up? But will those fets I posted in that link work? I am wanting to stack them.

I soldered fets with a 30watt no problem, but I understand why he would use such a powerful iron, with a low wattage iron you have to hold it against the fet's legs longer thus heating up the fet in the process and potentially damaging the fet.

Yea, I know what you mean. But in cases like that you can only hope the person knows what there selling and with 98% positive feedback there's a good chance he knows what he's doing

correction 15 watt works perfectly. its what i have used on all my stacks. cost 7.99 from radioshack. your working with fets, tiny tiny legs going to a pad on the board. only time use higher than that is when i am soldering motor wires, then i use a 30 watt.
15 watt for fets and small wires ( pot wires, steering servo wires)
30 watt (deans plugs, motor wires, etc.)

15 Watt is good. If you get one from Radio Shack or wal mart you should get a dremel kit and sharpen the tip up for more precision. Now I use a maddell 60W soldering Iron, however, it has adjustable temperature for different applications.

Alright I just wanted to double check this before I went and bought a high watt soldering iron lol. Looks like I am going to be buying me a new tip for my soldering iron just for the fets so I know I am using a nice and clean one.

Actually, I've found that when you grind down with a dremel kit, it makes the solder stick better. SO if you get a smaller one its worth using a at least some sand paper on the tip.

If your doing FET work and you have to stick with one wattage, you must select 15W. Do not use anything else!

Going to be recieving my fets soon is there a certain way to remove them from the board? I have no problem stacking them and if I brake them I have orderd like 10 or 20 sets lol. Tips other than the atomic mods tut would be helpful any tips from you seasoned vets out there would be a great plus on this.

Thanks Jason
