Datsun 510 track car
So, I got this kit awhile back... and it was horribly melted from the Texas summer.... and it is a bit small... so I put the box away. I picked it back up awhile back and have been using spot filler and putty to try to "restore" it and widen the fenders. In retrospec I should have built it as a beater first then done a resto, but I didn't think of it at the time. The roof, hood and rear quarter panel is where the bulk of the damage was. I rolled the fenders and added flares, to try to get it to work with an evo chassis, and it still needs more work. This one I am in no hurry to finish, but I am open to suggestions.

Looks really good Is the bumping around the arches where you used the putty??
Really digging the paint color and decals... maybe you could say its a demoderby car and not worry about fixing it up

I figure I'll slap some sponsor stickers, and tape the headlights and give it an aluminum spoiler....like a little autocross car. Maybe an external intercooler.

That sounds like a plan... with the external intercooler it will look mean as can be!!

I've actually got some similar rims, the mini-z WRX rims painted matt black. I need a more narrow wheel for functional steering. This biggest hold up is slowly "rolling the fenders" even more so that I can get the ride height as low as I want.

I was expecting a wagon, but that's still sweet.
Props to you for doing something original.

Thanks, I try to pick bodies that haven't been done- as well as styles that might not be mainstream popular.

Well now, there are always shipping and handling fees. But as of right now the price hasn't changed on either.
You might also look for a pre-built kit, use the keywords Datsun under the model category. Right after I bought mine there were a ton of pre-built listings. A set of three went for 15 + shipping... Ebay is a waiting game.
