Default Time for me to do an import.

I have had a long run of projects that have been american. As much as i love american mucles, ive been wanting a new drift car. So i went looking in ebay and found a 1971 skyline. Ive seen a couple of poeple do this car, so i thought id give it a try.

So on with the project. Ive been thinking about painting it silver and painting the wheel wells black.

Got it all mounted up

All the pictures for now. I dont know if you can tell but its getting ready to rain realy hard out side.
All coments wellcome. Enjoy!

Try to make it some sort of race deco since its the race body. It lacks mirrors, has much longer fenders and all that.

Yea, thats what I meant. Maybe do stripes and main trims in color of choice or something like that. Google some KPGs and see what racing ones used to look like.

I'm curious to find out what length you had to make the wheelbase...the autoscale body of this type is super short.

And based on that it'd be easy to make a rule of thumb. ASC is 90mm, so I'd assume this needs 98+.

Welcome to the KPG's club! IMO, if you can put some wider rims, would looks much better.

I was woundering how many people have this car on an xmod.

Im thinking about doing that mini-z shaft upgrade. Where you shave down the D-cut. Then ill have a very wide rang of rims to choose form.

Are there any sites you recommend?

Was there ant thing you had to worry about. Like shaving to far or accidentally cutting the threads?

I didnt have to worry about anything. I'm sure you have spares if anything too. As far as rims, shop.tinyrc.com is your best bet. Try to get the MA multi-offset kit/set because that will really get you started and will match one another.

Sadly KPG is THE worst RC racing body, so I've let that one go.

Instead of silver, why not go with a wild 70's color? It is a race spec. I got a 510 I put wide fenders on and sprayed lime...it is looking killer. A yellow, orange or other hotrod color would look great on it and set it off from the other Skylines...

My two cents anyway.

I was thinking about that, but im leaning more tords something suttle.
I think either one would look good, but i realy dont want anything to flashy.
