Default New project for the nephew....

My 11 year old nephew comes to me tonight holding his Xmod Gen1 with a wheel missing, the radio busted and its soaked in water.
I guess his asshole of a brother decided to so this just in spite....Jackass!

so....ive taken the Xmod out of the garbage where he threw it in, with the most hurt eyes ive ever seen! the poor kid saved forever for this Xmod when it came out (88.00CDN) when he was like 9-10 yrs old.
So ive taken it home and stipped it down, replaced all the wheels with new mesh as one was missing for his 5-star type. All new lug nuts, New 350z body which i got from Xmodsnut (this was supposed to be my body....) but because the Supra bod was fubar'd....i decided to do this out of the kindness of my heart, 350z's arent easy to get over here so he will LOVE this car now!

I have to swap out the drive shaft to accomodate for the new 350z body, so ill have to make a custom one since the 350z never came with one? not to hard! oh well....

Gave him a full set of bearings and locked out the diff and have to sacrifice a radio so he can use it along with a new set of crystals.

man i hate kids that take it out on other like this! just ARROGANCE!!
if it was my kid that did this to his brother....i would have grounded his *** for weeks and made him pay for it out of allowance or w/e the case.

But his brother's also your nephew, so you *can* do something about it.

Was about to ask that.

So your nephew has his wet, broken xmod in his hand. He had that thing for a year? and his brother f-ed it up? Wow what a freakin tard. Does he know your restoring his Xmod for him?Whatever the case lets just hope when he gets it, his brother wont screw around with it again and it was very kind of you to give him a 350Z body that you were suppose to use. I'd be ****ed if someone did that to my Mini-Z *** kicking Xmod*. Who wouldnt have grounded their kid if they did that? Good luck fixing it, unless you already did. But arent the electronics fried hence the "soaked in water" part?

*Yes, my RSX actually beat some mini-z's. Placed 3rd out of 8. They thought I was cheating because my car was different, but they didnt say mini-z's only, lol.

the shaft for the 350Z should have the same length as any of the long chasis Xmods (Civic, 65 Mustang, Supra, etc.) To fit the body on though, the batter packs need to be shifted or placed as far back as the Xmod lets you (3rd hole of the battery pack). If you're already sacraficing a radio you might as well keep the busted chasis stripped for parts and sacrifice an already assmebled chasis of yours, lot less work, unless you already have some stipped chassis and EP parts somewhere.

I also agree this is very kind of you, I'm sure he'll treasure it. Make sure to take some pics and if you even can, one of him smiling when he gets it lol (aww warm fuzzy feeling). If you're actually looking for something in specific to finish this project PM, I might be of some service. Good luck and don't forget pics

thanks guys!
unfortunetly i didnt take pics of it when it was soaked and busted, but ill definetly take some pics of it when its done. As soon as i got home i started workin on it and then put it under a fan for the night to let it dry, however... i dont think itll be fried as it was never attempted to be run while wet. If i dry it out completely it should be alright. As for the shaft ,now that i know its the same as a Honda civic that makes it easier to muster up...thanks again!

Yea the 350Z body is weird, I've always had problems putting it on, Make sure you're pushing the front clip in all the way and have the battery packs shifted back. Just careful how you slide it on, noramlly it fights me quite a bit and i never understood why, I just know you can get it on and it was a long chasis.

Okay....Here it is!
not much, basically stock in appearance with some mild upgrades under the shell.

Had to install a new antenae, and when i got the batt packs as far back as i could and got the body to fit right i realized the small black latch is missing under the chassis to lock the body in place.

Yea! RetArded KidZ!!

SELF EDIT:

I scrapped his Xmod as it was toast!
i sacrificed one of my mildly modded xmods to give him.

Now he has:

350z Body
Full ballbearing kit
RS suspension upgrade
SB Hybrid motor
18G wire upgrade
Carbide ball diff
Mesh wheels
