Default 09 Camaro: Re-do.

As many of you know, I painted Bumblebee candy apple red and it was looking SICK.

Just a few before shots.

Cut up a spare 67 Camaro BK hood to do this, had a little inspiration from another Camaro for this idea.

Haven't decided on many things from here, don't think I will stick with candy apple red though. Black, or silver is what I'm thinking. Wheel choice, no idea.

I progress on my projects slowly, but I'm hoping to have the hood puttied and smoothed out soon.

Never tried drifting with them.

But, stretch a hard compound tire onto them and you should be able to slide around anyway. Not sure about controlling it.

Not a major update, but I got the putty on the hood, and I also filed it down ALOT so it didn't sit up so high on the car. Now things look a little more proportional.

I also did a little chassis work to get the wheels to line up better in the rear wheel wells, it was way off when I first put the stiletto in there, now it's dead on.

Now I need to figure out a better way to lower it as well. I did just flip over the front clip and throw in two Gen 1 bearings with longer screws to lift it up just a little and it gave it the stance you see in the very first pic. Looks really good, but just not happy with how I did it.

The biggest problem with this car is finding the right stance and wheels to fill up the wheel wells, the wells on this thing are so messed up in shape it's dumb.

Small update, got the hood from the weapons and lights kit and started bondoing it to make a cowl hood, was having too many problems with flex on the other hood.. so I ripped it apart. This way should be alot better.

Hidden in this picture is another part of the update.. can you spot it?

There's a better clue..

I finally have lithium power. ;D

Nothing is soldered on, nothing is in final place.. just had to do a test mock up. Gives me more incentive to get this beast running atleast now. Thinking about upgrading to 18 gauge wire when I do solder it together.

Yes, it desperately needs it. Still not completely sure what color to go with, but I would still love to do midnight metallic blue..

Or go completely black with it.. that would be killer.

Zippo, hoping to have it sanded tomorrow night. I'll throw up some more pics after I get it going. Need to do some work on the back of the hood though, need to add some more bondo to shape it how I want it back there, it's going to be interesting..

Looking good. A silver with black stripes would look really nice, even though that is a common paint job

Not a real fan of lime green, but I guess if you get the right tone it might work out

Lime green is a huge no. Maybe a metallic forest green but I doubt that too.

Silver is sounding really good right now, or possibly gun metal. I would love to do the two black stripes also.. time will tell for them.

But, it's either silver or gun metal. It's like you guys read my mind even though I wasn't really thinking it.. but now that's the plan.

Also, got the hood sanded to shape and I might just leave it alone as it's practically perfect on the first try. Primer will tell me for sure though.

No pictures, camera batteries are dead.

Another small update..

I got everything soldered onto the board, power switch by-passed, got the servo motor wires upgraded to the old wires from the battery case.

It's charging right now, although I did notice from a quick plug-in that the servo didn't center in the center, it centered to the right.

Don't know what the deal is there, but maybe once I get a crystal in it and try a test run it will work ok.

Wish me luck, hopefully no fires. This is my first ever lithium run.. although there won't be much space to run it in, hopefully all goes well.

Edit: Go figure, absolutely nothing works. No forward, no reverse, no steering. Probably fried the board somehow while soldering it. Great.

You might have the servo wires crossed up. Not sure about the evo, but I know on a gen 1 if you solder the wires on the wrong connection, the servo won't center and will move all the way to one side

Check your connections and make sure you didn't cross anything when you soldered. Check to see if anything actually fried. Any smoke or melted fets?

Everything is in it's proper place, used my bone stock chassis as reference. Connections have to be good, the solder is good the wires are on there nice and tight and there was no smoke and the FET's look just fine.

This is just my luck.
