April '09: "Open Class" COTM Voting Thread:

Howdy and welcome to the April 2009 “Open Class” Car of the Month competitions. Surprisingly we had a lot of members enter at the later part of the month; must be in their plan to hold the suspense high! We had a total of seventeen entrants this year and we are glad they are willing to participate! Thank you and enjoy the competition!

Rules for Voting in the April “Open class” COTM:

1a. To vote, you must have been a member of Xmodsource.com since January 31, 2009. Anyone who has joined Xmodsource after that date is not eligible to vote.
1b. Any members caught cheating will be instantly disqualified from the poll and possibly future competitions.
1bb. Any member self voting (voting for their own entry in the poll) will have vote their vote removed and possibly suspension from future competitions.

2. One week will be allotted for voting. Voting will end on May 7, 2009.

3. As a reminder, voting is watched very closely. Anyone caught cheating will be instantly disqualified; infraction points could also follow, as well as a possible suspension from the website. All votes considered as cheating will be deleted in the final tally by an Administrator.

Was between black supra, red 'maro, and R33 for me, but IMO R takes the cake for clean exterior and interior. Camaro would be #2 and supra #3 solely because there's little work involved w/ that one.

i like the r33. second coice would be the SUT and the 3rd would be the supra painted by bondo-owned by 123vette

r33 cuz it's got dedication in it

sut second because though the conversion is clean and very nice, but not original.

3rd is the supra because though it is original and looks very good, it's not 12vette's own paintjob. it's somebody else's work.

I liked soooo many! That SUT is so clean! the Cameo is ingenious, and the R33 lookes so clean! Yet in my mind, That Camaro was soo clean, and perfect, that I went with that!

They all look excellent! Wish I would've had a few more votes...

i voted kitt, the car is just cool, might not be the best looking car in the comp but its cool (try to contact the owners of the real thing and sell it to them)

by the way, my entry is a F-1 not a F-100

Thanks! I know, the decals didnt come out as well as i had hoped, but regadless, it's ok. Oh, and about the real thing. Its totaled. rammed it into a large cement block. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slvZu...layer_embedded) < please excuse the sucky quality. Its the only video I found. The owner of the car (in orange-he wasnt driving) was infuriated. He now hates Bullrun prducers, Speed channel, and the Bullrun editors, so I don't think they'd like it very much!

i had too much stuff to do, remembered this on the 30th, worked for 5 minutes, realized it was 6:30, ran outside to take pics, and that's why my truck is not as good as most other entries. but wait 'til next time. i'll try to put in more effort. after all, i have part of may out from school.

first off i applaud everyones effort in the COTM...what an amazing selection and range of entries...i was stuck with a final 5 to choose from...makes me wish we didnt have to choose just 1, i always feel like i am screwing the rest of the crew...and then got down to a final 2...after several eeni meeni minee mo's and a few more coin tosses i final went with Skysthelimit...chassis is simple yet modded and clean, body is immaculate, concept and execution are flawless, and the effort was def there...and finally the tie-breaker for me was the beautiful pics...very realistic......also i have never had the opportunity to vote for him...another of my voting criteria...someone diff each month if its appropriate

lol i like mr. hotrods car the best but kitt i love that team evo remake! that was my fav team in bullrun, but then after the "you know what" happened i had to go for team avalance....

yeah, thanks. i liked Team Avy from the start. they were the underdogs, and ended up 2nd behind Team Shelby. that kid can drive that thing like a freakin' maniac!

My tip #1 would be to paint the trims and details. This is a visual competition, so I don't know why some of you choose to omit these simple elements. IMO id you don't paint the body itself, but add the trim it already looks alive.

most of them were great entries this month, although bondos truck did look very real, i didnt vote becuz of the door lines, door handles, and the bed, they did NOT look factory. i went with blue504's 1950 ford f1, becuz i do lo9ve all fords, and his caught my eyes. good luck to all.
