looks good to me for the money but i wouldnt go with the 400 dollar value they put on it though i would change the elecs if you do buy it as they dont look that good. it will be copy of something like the rc18 or similiar 1/16 car

honestly stay away from non name brand companies, the parts are made cheaper and more likely to break. even if its based off of a name brand car by the time you break all the original parts you'd have been way better off getting the name brand car.

Agreed with the above post. Stick with name brands; if you want a good 1/18th scale RC look at the DuraTrax Vendetta, Team Associated RC18 or the Traxxas Slash/E-Revo. All four of those platforms are wonderful to work with and parts are plentiful; both by the manufacture and by aftermarket companies.

As a side note, I love how all of these non-name-brand companies post information then at the bottom something along the lines:

I'm sorry, but around all my tracks, with experienced racers, everyone is using AE, Traxxas, Losi, or Xray, not your Chinese/Japanese/Bee'sKnees knockoff!

Cheers,
Kyle.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll look into the name brands.

what i saw that un needed heat sink on the motor, that gave away its a bad deal

and any rtr rc car that comes with NICD batts in THIS era is 100% not worth it

i mean cmon.. we have rtr cars coming with LiPo and this is nicds? nicds are almost never used and keep memory unless fully discharged(which is why we stick with nimh and lipo, and life)

Any of the four Team Associated RC18 platforms (RC18T, RC18B, RC18R or RC18MT).

RC18T is the "truck":

RC18B is the "buggy":

RC18R is the "race-car":

RC18MT is the "monster truck":

Team Associated also just launched the RC18T2 and RC18B2. These are nearly identical chassis setups, with the major differences being the RC18T2/B2 use a belt driven system rather than the shaft driven system in the previous models (RC18T/B/R/MT). I would recommend the first edition (RC18T/B/R/MT) just because the system is tested and proven while the T2/B2 is new to the market; and, also, in my opinion, shafts are easier to maintain than belts (but that is mostly preference).

Another major difference between the first editions and the T2/B2 is the T2/B2 is a kit and the first editions are complete ready-to-runs. Comes with the TX/RX, ESC, motor, and even the 7.2V NiMH for the car. All you'll need to purchase is the eight AA batteries for the transmitter!

Cheers,
Kyle.

ehh, atomicprices is a little over priced, try looking on the team associated website too.

but honestly before you just buy one be sure to go to your local hobby shop and see what they carry parts for. i've seen people make this mistake before at the track, they break apart then miss the next 2 weekends of racing because their parts have not come in from japan...

Ok. Thanks for the tip. The nearest hobbyshop is about 2 hrs from here, so I'll have to call before I go down there.

also if you have a local track head up there and find the class you want to race in, then watch the guys that are winning it and see what they're racing

the old ones wont be sold online anymore, only at local hobby shops, and they wont be for sale for much longer

the new one features a new design because it is belt drive, the old on is shaft drive

EDIT

Donzii beat me to it lol

RC18B2

RC18T2

SC18(features the belt drive aswell)

Can anyone recommend a like a mini buggy? I want it for vacation this year.

Edit: I found the one I am going to get. It is almost identical to an xmod.

http://www.hobby-estore.com/ProductD...%2Dbuggy%2Dred

The site says there are hop-ups for it, and I found some.
Let me know what you guys think.

thanks,
Cory

Isn't Red Cat Racing just a slightly better clone or the RC18, kind of like iWaver to Mini-Z?

Pretty much. I want something that I can easily mod, and because this car is so close to an xmod, I already know alot about it.

The red-cat I found is almost identical to a gen1 chassis.
