Default Two new RC's FTW!!

Went to a Radio Shack in another town today and they had a sell on some stuff, had a few Xmods on display and had some other ones next to it that I guess are now dis-continued and were on sale.

Start it off with a pic:

Pro Pulse T-100 baby. Haven't had a chance to run it yet but I love it already.

Got it for $50, and the battery and charger for $5. They had upgrades for it but I didn't get any, although I should have got the twin motor upgrade for it..

Little larger than an Xmod.

And the other R/C, basically got it for my cats, and holy crap they LOVE it:

Picked it up for like $15 at a toy store here in town, things a blast once you can figure out how to maneuver it. I love 'em.

Just got my chance to run it, little bastard has power. Go in reverse, hit the throttle and it just flipped backwards 3 times from trying to grip and go forward.

Run time sucked as I didn't let the battery charge to full, couldn't wait...

But, I am decided on getting two or three more batteries with an extra charger or two so I won't have a short run time and 6 hour wait time.

Any speed chargers for these things, and is the red battery with only 200 more mAh honestly worth it?

And, I think the little chopper might already be broke. Suddenly it flies backwards and once you get it stable it won't respond really, just wanders on it's own.. and if the blades slightly hit something they come apart... every time.

Needs some work but I'll figure it out.

Anything I should know about these PP's? What's good and what's not? I figure aluminum parts would be good for it, but I will only get those as things break. This is strictly a cheap and fun R/C.. and it's definitely a blast. Can't wait to get a full charge and run it outside..

Purchase some Ultra Dean connectors and a hobby grade charger rather than the Pro Pulse charger. The Pro Pulse charger takes way too long to charge and isn't as reliable as a Hobby Grade charger. Your battery will have more punch, a better charge cycle and probably last longer with a Hobby Grade charger.

Would you mind showing me a good charger? Don't really know brands or anything, never messed with hobby grade stuff before.

I figure the PP might not be an extremely nice R/C, but it's definitely a step up and alot more fun.

There are three kinds: AC charger, DC charger and AC/DC charger. Obviously, DC runs off of 12V DC current, AC runs off 120V AC current and AC/DC can run off of either (120V) AC or (12V) DC current. Personally, I use a Hobbico MKII charger. This is a 12V DC only charger. I find it to be the most versitile because it is small and runs off of a 12V power supply. To power my 12V field charger, I use a car jump starter or just the 12V car battery itself.

Oh man they look badass in black. Sharpie your wheels black and leave the lip the grey. Did it to mine, changed it's look a good bit.

For 50 bucks I may need to pick up another and start going at these monsters again.

yeah, that chopper's a blast. i have the original brand one. dunno if it makes a difference, but maybe mine is stronger. well, if they're the same, take the xmod drill (or any drill i guess) and drill a hole in each of the foam landing things. thread some yarn through it and tie a cat treat or toy to it. my dogs went nuts when i did it.

Already got my first carnage, the rear bumper broke off.

And, painting the wheels would look good but this thing isn't for looks, it's for bashing and having fun with. The paint on the wheels would just scratch up. It's amazing how quickly something with real power can get dirty. I've barely ran it and it's already pretty dirty.

I'm itching to find some dirt to take it in now..

Definitely going to have to keep up maintenance on this thing.

Where's the best place to find aluminum parts for these?

Smacked a curb on my first real good run today and broke the driver side steering shaft that goes from the servo to the knuckle, so that means I need metal ones now.

For now, superglue and hopefully bondo will keep it in good enough shape to drive. And btw, **** it was fun running it on the street.. freakin fast.

Nice buy. I liked mine when it still ran. But with how I used to beat it, it broke almost every run so I went on into better RC's. When it breaks beyond what you plan to pay, throw it in the garbage and buy something better. Hmm...$50 I may need to pick one up for some light bashing. As heli's go. I used to fly 2CH helis and don't get me wrong they are tons of fun, but they got boring. So now I have an E-Flite Blade MCX and makes my 2CH heli's gather dust because it is so fun. Just my 2 cents.

If it's going to break every run I'll be ****ed, and I'm having a hard time finding parts for this thing.. and it seems all the aluminum I find is not what I need, they don't have the tie rods in aluminum, I suppose it's the design of how they pop onto the joints though? I don't know.

Anyone have any stock ones they don't need? I saw a set at Atomic Mods but they don't have a **** thing in stock. Go figure.

Edit: I've read alot that the RC18 parts are compatible? Anyone know what parts are, and who makes it so I can go look for them? I have no idea who makes the RC18..

http://thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_deta...at_name=RC18T#

Will these work for my truck?

Edit: Wow, I just took it out and bashed pretty hard on it.. the bondo on it did the trick. Might wrap the other non broken one in bondo to add more strength.

I ramped it hard, hit stuff, flipped it alot.. still holding really well. Very impressed with my ghetto fix job.
