Default my summer project!

ok so i've had this thing sitting around for a few years. due to its design it never has really worked too well. and yes it is a r/c sailboat. i've been meaning to get to work on this and it also gives me chance to show off my fiber glassing skills, and how i suck at designing and constructing parts.

so, as it sits now...

the really sucky reciever...

so here it is... lol try and guess wat kinda boat it is and who its made by, its a popular brand and not too hard to find.

ok little work done, went alittle overboard with the bottom, but got the false bottom cut out.

ok got all the old electronics out, also this was one of the major design flaws. they created a small compartment for the electronics (i call the "false bottom") the buyer loved the neatness of it, but it created a place where once water got in it had nowhere to go out. therefore all the electronics got to soak in the water for as long as you were useing it.

due to the false bottom, this servo "bit the dust"

ohh well, it was a cheap one anyway.

ok got the false bottom cut out, lol i got to use the fiberglass cutting wheel for the dremal.... lol i almost sliced my finger off in the process.....

lol i went a little overboard with the bondo, oh well, lol im still getting used to that stuff....

mean and nice comments welcome =]

not dead, just been doing a little thing here and there in my spare time.

i faired the hull and shined it up and it was really shiney and smooth. heres some pics taken at night with no flash to show the shine

and here's some taken with flash so you can see the ty dye boat lol

then i didnt like ty dye so i sanded it down and painted it a solid color

i really like this shade of blue, looks really good with the white deck and black spares

and its hard to see from the pic but the deck is a kinda creamy color that i really dont like, it will be painted a semi gloss white soon

and here's my little helper, my new 6 month pup we got from the humane society after we had to put our corgi to sleep after finding she had a tumor
