Volvo meetings?

What... do you guys do at a Volvo meet?

-Share Latte and Frapachino secrets?
-Compare seat belt safety?
-Chat about the latest safety innovation?
-Talk custom air bags?
-Share stories of Volvo safteyness?
-Speak Sweedish?
-Talk trash about other brand's lack of safety?
-Karoke?

There is one very important Volvo missing, though. Jalopnik's Ford 302 powed, T5 shifting, Mercedes Benz cooling, Black Metal V8olvo/Mustard-Yellow-Volvo-doing-45-in-the-fast-lane-with-it's-left-blinker-on

Their repin' the sweeds well in Lemons.

Theres no such things as Volvo meets, or clubs, or coalitions... its all a cult! nothing but a safe cult! but still, its not the first group of cars you think you'd see meeting.

So I'm right?!

Can I bring my truck, or would I be shunned for being too unsafe? I guess Volvo owners are like the Prius owners about being safe.

Volvo Owner: "Well MY Volvo can activate the brakes when it detects an incoming object, and use the ABS system to help steer out of the way... What can YOUR truck do?"

Myself: "I can... Skid, and mow down everyone/thing out that's in front of me with my solid steel bumper affixed to the frame..."

Volvo Owner: "GASP, YOUR bumper isn't on energy absorbing shocks? HOW barbaric! -scoff-"

-----

At any rate, very cool that you guys got to meet. Post pics of your own car, cuz no body here knows what an S70 from a P50 from a C10.

S70 is a Volvo, P50 is a WWII fighter plane, C10 is a Chevy truck.

Imagine if I showed up with my dads lifted Silverado

Volvo owner: "So what is your main safety feature?"
me: "Well I just parked on top of your car so you tell me."

Eh, I like Volvo's. It was the classic Esate Wagon that got me loving the wagon. I actually really like them. When my dad and I went to rented a Volvo S80 (BRAND new - 6 miles on the odometer when we recieved it, adn it still had the factory sticker on it) and a Ford Econoline backed into it, there was barely a dent. The guys at National car rental were dissapointed but all that needed to be done was a the door to be hammered out. Minimal damage, and we still drove it like it wasn't damaged over some rocks (unpaved parking lot... we humiliated a guy in an Explorer who had a blowout over the rocks) adn we took it another 300 miles. I loved that car!

volvo owner "i said THAT STUPID BLAZER IS TOO LOUD"
other volvo owner "i can't hear you, that blazer's too loud"

There was supposed to be 2 wagons, one of which was a T5 (turbo), but they had to cancel at the last minute. The red one was an 06 S60R with 6spd.

This was mine.....

Yes, they were the nicest 850's I've ever seen. Both had an extensive list of mods and were far from stock. The full 3" exhausts they had were fairly loud too, so I don't think any of us would be complaining about a Blazer.
