i guess its not to late to enter?

my 1988 Mustang LX project has been going on and off for the past 2-3 years. it started like this













but had a white hood and weld racing wheels, the last owner wanted a drag car. a friend of my uncle found the car and wanted the motor that was in it for his 66 Mustang coupe, so my dad bought the body and did a motor swap. so heres some details on the car. (what the pics show)

start simple
88 mustang LX
3 chrome one gray pony wheels (5 stars)
cobra wing
cobra grille insert
dual flowmasters with stainless tips
thick on top thin on bottom paint
red/sprayed black interior
factory front bumper cover
aftermarket rear bumper cover
non-vin matching motor or trans
i can keep going but dont feel like it

as of 1 year ago


as


you can see alot of work done

body work started
rear bumper cover changed to factory
front bumper cover changed
hood changed to factory
side moldings removed
hatch and quarter windows removed
headlights and tail lights removed
interior gutted

here it is about 8 months ago





as you can see more work done

half the car is primed
hatch and quarter windows placed on car
and well thats it

i have pics of it from about 3 months ago but i cant find them, ill post them when i do (not much difference)

funture plans include new chrome pony wheels (from ford racing not the cheap ones)
lexus IS350 blue
flat black hood stripe
gray interior (getting for free from my bro)
kick a$$ sound system
and thats it, nothing special

thanks, believe it or not, that was the original color i was goin to paint it, then after seeing it i didnt like it

it doesnt at this moment, dead battary, but normally it runs very strong, the rear wheels are slicks now, fuel mix is very rich, but it runs like it came from the factory just alittle louder

it might be that color, it was not painted by anyone i know.

pic 3 stock green front cap, and primed hood
pic 4 primed cowl section and cracked windshield
pic 5 primed front driver side quarter and gray rim
pic 6 still needs work, that rim is chrome
pic 7 flawless interior
pic 8 whats under the quarter window
pic 9 just to prove it runs (look at the gages in pic 7)
pic 10 radio wires, shifterless T5, computer in the background
pic 11 more flawless interior
pic 12 yes the dash was spray painted black and yes it has A/C

i recently got a full gray interior (minus seats and arm rests) from a 92 GT
and my dad is giving me the money for paint and body work for birthday and xmas

this car could be done in 3 months

lol when you get done with the way it looks you shoudl totally supercharge it and upgrade to a 7.6L 460 block :-) now that would be killer

its a good idea, but i dont have the money for that, i will push the 302 as far as i can before i put a big block in it

update time

nothing new on the car just yet, hoping to trailer it to my house to get it away from my dads so body work can be finished

but here is all the free sh...stuff i got from my step brother

brand new 3rd brake light for my cobra wing



brand new OEM cobra front grille running pony



factory exhaust tips



and full grayish tan interior for a hatchback




i still dont have a few interior parts pictured but i have them at my step bros house and shop

Blue, Im slightly confused. Why does it seem like you are trying to revert this car to stock? Theres nothing exciting about a stock 88 mustang.

Little side track here, but I'm kinda new to Ford engines. Which do you think is better, a 5.0 or a 5.4? I'm thinking about building an engine from the ground up for my project, just need to know what engine is the best upgrade platform. Either engine could be obtained very easily from my local junkyard, as there are plenty of f-body mustangs and f150s.
