Default The Monster Mustang!

Alright, iv been planning this for a while now, trying to get donations for this project but unfortunatly some of the stuff has got lost in the post.

This is the plan iv made.

Mustang GTR style fuel filler, iv used the rear GT badge for it but i got a little luck when the GT emblem fell out so now its just chrome. Black for body, CF effect hood and roof, M-claw airbrushed on the side.

All sanded, just drying now.

The goods (just waiting on silver and clear).

Finally the stencil.

Should be getting the extra stuff i need for this build this week but i could not hold it off much longer.

Also can't decide weather to lay down primer first as iv only got white....

monster energy were suppost to send me some stickers ages ago but i never got them so i just printed out the logo, put masking tape over it and cut out with hobby knife.

Got some primer down then ran out lol, im using hycoat auto primer, IMO its just as good as tamiya except it comes in bigger cans and its much cheaper. I only had 1/2 left of a small can though so iv ordered a 400ml can.

To remind me of my objective

Are you really putting a hemi in it??

It my experience the easiest way to fit an engine is to chop of the bottom and basically keep cutting it down until you can shoehorn it into the space available, like so:

I have trimmed and cut away at the block until it fits nicely between the suspension towers.

I agree with B1G, about the only thing you can do is trim the bottom of the motor down until it fits under the hood. I can't wait to see how this project turns out, your concept design is pretty cool.

Really cool project! With the success of your silver Mustang project (from a while back), I have little doubt that this pony will turn out beautiful as well! Good luck!

Thanks Drift KO, at least somebody remembers her :P

I can't decide on the engine, i want to use the hemi for my belair diecast project so i think i may put my own twist on it. i have a model engine from a mitsubishi lancer and i wont need to cut it because the top half just pops off.

would have pics of it but the camera cable is broken so hopefully my dad will pick me one up from work tomorrow.

3rd coat of tamiya gloss black and now it seems to be taking good now, also the spray pattern is wider now iv thinned the paint alot.

2-3 more coats and it should be ready for the claw.
