Pictures of your chassis...? Is it on the second screw eye, first or third?
I am unsure if the EVO line-up is longer than the Gen.1 line-up... However, you can fabricate a piece of metal or plastic extensions to make the body fit. Blade. |

chassis is set to the longest setting but the bodies are too long.
if i extend the chassis doesnt that mean i have to make a longer driveshaft? and stuff? thanks michael

As said before unless you extend the chassis on the Gen 1 it will not fit those bodies. Those Evo bodies were made only for the Evo car with a spacer. If you could extend the Gen 1 chassis with something it could work.

Gen 1 Long chassis driveshaft = Evo chassis short? Or is it medium?

gen1 long=evo medium
the mustang uses evo long... aka: custom conversion and either a hummer drive shaft.. or something similar.. whichever one fits

I have a picture incoming for this matter...
Giving you a brief description : I had to extend my Gen.1 Chassis to fit a 1:24th scale model body on it, how I did it, was I used a piece of aluminum, drilled holes, extended the chassis, what I used for my driveshaft at first was a front knuckle stub for RWD, then I changed it too a custom made driveshaft using a model tree, which in fact works wonderful and has not broke yet... Pictures on their way. Blade. Pictures. Pretty much the third picture you can see the metal piece and same as the second. There are different methods on extending the chassis though. so does it matter what the driveshaft extention is made from obviously it has to be strong enough.
@blade have you got a picture of the aluminium chassis extention piece? thanks for all the help guys michael

in order to put a evo body on a gen 1 chassis if it has the same wheelbase, all u must do is put the evo front body clip on the gen 1 chassis and then get a gen 1 rear body clip, stick it on the evo body, and walla! i did it myself put a gen 1 body on an evo and an evo body on a gen 1. simple simple simple!

Any xmods gen 2/3 that has the extra grey Spacer is 98mm wheelbase. This means you need to make an extension 4mm from the center of the rear-most mounting holes of the gen 1-beige chassis. The following shells will also require extensions on gen 1's or the dark grey spacer on gen2's or 3's: 2010 Camaro (bumblebee) 2008 Z06 Corvette 2008 Nissan GT-R 2010 Mustang GT 200x G35 2005 Mustang GT 2005 Saleen Mustang (barricade) *note: I believe I missed one or two Also like they told you, the shafts from the awd kit for these cars should work in your gen 1 so no mod necessary.

All aluminum plate shots. However, the plate was meant to fit a 1:24th scale S10 model body onto the chassis, so the size is much larger than 98mm. I do believe my driveshaft is 102mm or 110mm I am unsure, I may have to measure it... Just follow what Kaze. has said, and you should be fine. Making a 4mm extension isn't really all that hard, you can use sheet plastic to make the extension rather than going through all the cutting for a metal piece. Blade. |

They clearly aren't the same length if you actually took the time to read the contents of the thread, which is a pretty small thread at that so it shouldn't have been too hard if you tried.

if anyone is interested here is an update
well i made the bracket for it i did it using a rear upper deck using the two front pieces with the screw holes, i had to drill an extra hole bit its ok. however now it doesnt sit flat : so ill have to make a change or two. also for the driveshaft i only have the gen1 cars and upgrades so how can i make a longer driveshaft or is it worth trying to but the part?

For my S10 to get the chassis balanced as best I could I just put fatty and taller model tires on Acura RSX rims(will work for all rims) on the rear, with normal width as the stock xmod tire and a little smaller, like so little it's hard to notice on the front. Anything will work, you just need to improvise on what you use and do. Goodluck, and did I say pictures would help us alot on helping you with your problem? Blade. |
