My Micro T
Here he is:
So dubbed Plankton. This car is not going to be a speed beast like my radline. I love the fact that I can put this car on the ground and drive it without having to worry about anything breaking within five seconds. So far the only mod is x-truck soft shocks because the stock ones were too springy. Granted there are some weak parts that I will slowly be weeding out and replacing with aluminum, but this car will remain a fun car. Parts on the way due Tuesday: Only speed mod:BBII Threaded Front and Rear Axles: Carbon Fiber Steering Links: And some shiny new Wheels: The only plan I really have is that I would like it to become all aluminum eventually. And If I reach that point I will possibly convert it to Brushless. For now he just hangs with his big bro: Last edited by xmodzracer; 07-18-2009 at 07:42 PM.. |

In the pics that is a BB1 motor and i have heard that the CF links will snap. Then again people usually bash these trucks to nothing. Bearings and The 3r titanium turnbuckles are the best upgrades besides the threaded axles. Have fun with your new vehicle!

Ball bearings are the next on my to find list. and thats weird because atomic has that motor listed as the bbII
Eieldfairy if you read the article where they debuted the motor it says that it is the exact same as the BBI except that it has actual ball bearings. That is why it looks the same. Last edited by xmodzracer; 07-18-2009 at 03:57 PM.. |

I've got a Micro T too. The BB2 has a nice punch to it, better than stock obviously. IMO, after destroying a few stock steering links, I found that guitar picks work pretty well
So yeah, pretty good mods you've got there. Ball bearings are obviously the next thing you need on your list

Two more things on order
Micro Groove Tires (I just like the look): And three sets of Micro Deans: Also once these come I plan on doing my wire swap with the wire I used on my Radline. And today the stupid antenna snapped so I made a reinforced one with an xmods gen 1 antenna. |

Update:
Got some more stuff done Decided to go with Atomics rims and tire combo. The silver ones were just too heavy. I like these tires but they are kinda slick even with the second softest set. But I like to use them. I have also put in ball bearings on all four corners. Total list now: Atomic Wheels Atomic 20 degree tires Micro Deans Ball Bearings Aluminum Skid plate carbon fiber steering links Custom made antenna Threaded axles all around Truck shocks on rear xmods crystal yeah... thats pretty much it... oh yeah and I modified the charger too COMMENTS PLEASE!!! OK! Back from boot and decided to throw my self back into the hobby scene. The radline was stashed onto the the top shelf of the closet until I feel like fighting it again. The xmods were all sold prior to leaving for boot camp. This leaves none other than the micro t... and with nothing else taking my pay check except the car... time to upgrade!
So i wanna say that I'm a little disappointed at the availability of parts from atomic and other sites. So with a little research and some orders from various sites, here is the micro now: Mods now include: -Atomic Wheels -Atomic 20 degree tires -Micro Deans -Ball Bearings -Aluminum Skid plate -Carbon fiber steering links -Custom made antenna -Threaded axles all around -Truck shocks on rear -xmods crystal -Atomic BBII Motor -Losi 2s Lipo -Aluminum Front Shock Mount -Aluminum Rear Shock Mount Mods in the mail to arrive tomorrow: -Aluminum Shocks Front and Rear -Aluminum Dogbones -Aluminum Steering Knuckles -Aluminum Front A-Arms -Aluminum Rear A-Arms Also had the rear carrier hubs but atomic called me and told me that there were no other ones available... |

Its not really an extreme off road car to me. Yeah it can run off road but it would need to be a smooth car. I see the need for four wheel drive but not so much in racing of these. They really dont need it. They do offer a micro crawler though with four wheel drive. I just dont like crawling either lol

Okay. You made me buy one with this thread I'm not sure if I should thank you or be angry.
I just purchased on ebay a lightly used Losi micro desert truck with 2 lithium batteries and chargers. I have a question for you. When I buy bearings, how many do I need? Losi website says the transmission is equipped with ball bearings, is this true? I see on ebay some with 8 wheel bearings and some with 8 wheel and 2 gearbox. |

Playengine, it's not so much locating and purchasing parts. My radline is so extremely modified that it gets stupid electrical glitches that i have to fix. It works great when it works but right now I just don't feel like fighting with the electronics.
And that does look like a good deal |
