Default im gonna throw my xmod at the wall

i need a bit of help, ive not used my xmod for a while but i charged the litiums b4 i put it away, its a gen 1 on a stilletto chassis i think, ive put lithiums on it and it runs well but since i went to use it after several months its started with when i try reverse it goes forward so i try again and it will reverse, it may do this a couple of times, it worked fine b4 i stopped using it, ive tried other lithiums and its still the same, now ive done all the work myself and fixed plenty of others of various problems but this has me stumped, ive even swapped chrystals......anyone got any ideas

Just to clarify.

Worked fine last time you drove it.

This time you drove it sometimes reverse will go forward and sometimes reverse will go reverse.

Is this correct?

it's not the car's problem. it's the remote. over time, it has lost precision. so sometimes when you hit reverse, it goes forward and stops because it senses a forward inputand brak input. then you have to hold the reverse again to get it to read the reverse input. its' a problem on half of all my cars.

The general answer is that if you add FETs:

You will be able to run any motor you want

and

Your car will seem somewhat punchier, or in other words have a stronger initial response to throttle

Resistance will be lowered but its doubtful you'll be able to notice that difference.

What kind of motor are you running?

Its probably not worth it if you don't want to run a faster motor than that. I put FETs on a GEN.1 with a 180 size FET safe motor and lithium, it gained no top speed at all on my speed checker. I couldn't tell any difference at all honestly. Of course, its already breaking traction at throttle so I wouldn't have been able to tell if it added punch or not to the throttle.

What are you driving it for? PN Speedy 05 is good. More punch than S2, and nice torque. Are you sure you have the stilletto? It could be a switchblade.

do spend money thats not needed...did you try what XMDrifter said? try switching out for a diff control and see what happens then worry about your motor. he has a good point there. stuff happens alot.

YEa like said above you might want to switch remotes and see if thats a difference, and for your driving style i would recommend with going with an AWD spec motor even if your not running awd, they tend to have more torque for your driving application and in my experiences they last longer IMO.
